Has it occurred to you that just maybe people are silent in a pug because they're just shy? I never say anything in pugs outside of "business" talk, because I'm uncomfortable around strangers and it takes me a long time to open up to people. If someone speaks to me I respond because it's just polite but I have no desire to yap with strangers. Comments like yours are why I don't pug anymore unless I absolutely have to or a guildie needs help in one. I would rather go without the rep than have to put up with chatty jerks being all judgmental and obnoxious just because my anxiety disorder means I don't join in banal small talk with people I don't know.
You social butterfly types need to be less judgmental and understand everyone playing the game isn't like you, and everyone playing the game does not play for the same reasons you do.
