They've lost a lot of players for one reason or another, but not as much as people might think.The numbers show a sharp rise in subscriptions for Wow.Bliz is likely using their talent pool in a multi-tasking way, so cutting costs works out better for them in the long run.But it can't be stressed enough that if Bliz scares off their player base it will be in for a rough run. They need to keep bringing a good experience to players.Whenever Bliz nerfs something, something will get buffed later on. Please expect really TOUGH instances in the relatively near future.I would hope for a difficult quest chain to get into the next iteration.
