The Queue: Sea shanty edition

Good afternoon, everyone! I'll waste no time trying desperately to be funny today, we'll just jump into this thing.
Carda asked...
Which heroic dungeon provides the most rep? Of course, this will probably vary depending on the amount of trash pulled (full clear vs. "just the pats, ma'am"), but accounting for bosses and essential trash pulls, where can I farm to max out my rep as quickly as I can?
Wowwiki has a pretty good list of this on their Championing page. It's missing data for a few dungeons and might not be 100% accurate, but it lists The Nexus and Ahn'kahet as the Heroics with the highest reputation potential in a single run. Violet Hold and Azjol-Nerub are listed as having the lowest possible rep per run, but they're also very, very fast dungeons.
There aren't very huge divides in how much you gain where, they're all rather close to one another. If you ignore the two really short ones, all of the others are within roughly 300 reputation of each other. The list over on Wowwiki will help you maximize your gains if you want, but I think that in the end you'll feel better about the grind if you just run whichever Heroics you like.
Zayd asked...
I know I could just try Wowhead but incase they come up short is there a way I can find the quatermasters for each faction?
Wowhead will work just fine for this, they have absolutely all of them listed with their locations. If you really want a backup, we've written a very basic overview of Wrath reputations that list the towns with Quartermasters.
Cellwinn asked...
Why is Anub'arak simply a 5-man boss fairly early in the expansion? Pretty much all of the other NPC's that played a role in WarCraft 3 appear as raid bosses and usually the last boss of a raid at that.
In Wrath of the Lich King they tried to make lore characters a lot more accessible to players, and while I can't say it with certainty, I suspect Anub'arak was their first attempt at that while building the expansion. It's a little disappointing that he didn't have a larger presence, and Azjol-Nerub overall could've used a lot more love.
I don't think a major lore figure needs to be a raid boss, but I do agree that they should've done more with Anub'arak. Were Azjol-Nerub a level 80 dungeon, perhaps they would have had more time to add more to his character, but maybe not. Overall, I don't really know why they did what they did and all that we can do is speculate. I agree that he should have had more of a role though, even if it were only a single quest chain that both factions could get.
Wrendil asked...
What I don't understand is with such a nice and fancy new harbor in Stormwind, would it have been such a bad idea to open up one simple bar?! I mean, really...what's the docks without a bar!
Improvise! Hop up into one of the docked boats, and make a themed bar! Just make sure to bring the booze with you, because you'll feel a bit silly if you sneak up there and find yourself dry.

My subscription runs out on the 31st January, and I don't plan on resubscribing.
I've made my mind up about quitting, but I was just wondering if there's anything I really should do before quitting?
I'm a level 80 undead warlock with mainly heroic gear with the odd epic.
I don't have time for raiding, but have done all the heroic instances.
So is there something I really ought to experience before my WoW life comes to an end?

Yeah, give me your gold, then you're welcome to GTFO.

Do the Wrathgate line in Dragonblight if you haven't already, and try Wintergrasp even if you don't like PVP.
Strand of the Ancients is also a fun PVP instance.
The Stormpeaks quests have a lot of neat lore in them as well.

If you've achieved everything you wanted to achieve there's little laft for you to do before you go.
Maybe throw a aprty for your guild, hand out booze, set off fireworks. Give out some gifts or something.
Otherwise, goodluck in your future ventures.

A couple of suggestions:
1. If you haven't started a death knight, I would recommend that you start one and level it through the DK starter quests -- Blizz did a really nice job with this.
2. The Wrath Gate quest chain in Dragonblight, if you didn't catch that the first time through to 80.
3. I quit in 2007 and eventually came back in 2008; if you think there is a good chance you'll come back, I would go ahead and clean out your bank/bags for the auction house now and convert to gold, so that if you come back on the other side of a major content patch, you'll have some gold instead of a bunch of now-worthless mats and consumables.

No need to be jerks about it, and as a general rule any reply that can be predicted before it's posted isn't funny.
Before you quit, you should take the time to see (if you haven't) stuff like Mauradon and Dire Maul in the old world - they're beautiful areas to just explore.
I'd say take the time to finish a Malygos-10 fight, that's a very cool encounter, but I'm not sure that's a possibility for you.

/applaud everyone for what may be the most civilized response to a post ever on WoW Insider.
I would suggest that you complete the Sons of Hodir unlock quest line, starting with "They Took Our Men!" in K3 Stormpeaks. That quest line is my personal favorite. Plus, afterwords, when i did Halls of Lightning, I got much more satisfaction after kicking that worthless S.O.B. Loken in the teeth, and I suspect you will too.

Achievement Question- Is there a reason that downing the World Dragons ( Emeriss, Lethon, Shade of Taerar, and Tsondre ) are not included as a achievement?
mayjest Jan 29th 2009 1:24PM
If rumours are to be believed, Emerald Dream is the next expansion. Thus, these dragons, or at least their locations, will become important in about a years time - or will likely be moved to the Emerald Dream as raid bosses there, with level 77 mobs 'guarding' the dream from us fearsome heroes.
I agree though, they should at least be mentioned *somewhere*. A feat of strength if nothing else.
Riftsrunner Jan 29th 2009 2:41PM
Feats of Strengths are for items that are almost, in not, impossible for players to do currently in game. Those once in a game play chance. The Four Dragons are no where near this type of achievement. For one, they still appear in the various location, so if you can get a raid together, are still downable regularly.
Dbooker Jan 29th 2009 3:44PM
It's not much of a feat of strength when a 5-man or 80's can come in and wipe all 4 of them out in about 2 hours (about 1 hour 20 minutes of that being just travel time) without really even breaking a sweat.
Walynds Jan 29th 2009 1:21PM
I would of thought Anoob deserved for questline for lore purposes and I was expecting an instance of BRD type proportioins too (Ajol'Nerub is supposed to be huge, Yay for short instances though).
I wouldn't be surprised if we see him again under the power of Yogg-Saron, considering the Cthuonic horrors running around in the Old Kingdom.
Wakleon Jan 29th 2009 1:40PM
Knowing the powers of the Lich King undead are never really "dead". He could reincarnate Anub'arak. But I do like the idea that he is influenced by Yogg'Saron. Really, Blizzard has set them up nicely for content patches. We know Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel. But I would love to see a Yogg-Saron and trollish, maybe the large temple at Gundrak that we never enter as content patches. I also have my fingers crossed that Uldum is released as a new 5-man with Ulduar.
walynds Jan 29th 2009 1:53PM
Yes Blizzard have mentioned a 'surprise' in the next patch. Hope it Uldam, That will make me go back to my original Dwarf pally main. I remeber the joy of getting the disks or Noraggon only to be dissapointed to find the questline ended at the smashed Uldum door. Even more ROom to move with this plot line (Bael Modan untouched plot wise really)
Id also like to see,
Grim Batol (Doubt its Deathwing though, look for him in the Emerald Dream IMO)
Info on what apperas to be a unfinished BG in Azshara, and the timbermaw hold there too.
Stormwind 'vault'. I get the feeling this got moved to Dalaran and Became VH.
Love lore Rich instances, which i think is why i disliked TK, i felt tacked on
Jack Spicer Jan 29th 2009 1:57PM
@Wakleon
Ugh. Haven't we beaten troll instances to death already? How about something completely full of evil Tauren or Murlocs instead?
Jim A Jan 29th 2009 2:53PM
As long as what they give us next is not another troll instance...
or as someone in my guild said... next up.... Zul'Again
I lolled
Riftsrunner Jan 29th 2009 3:01PM
hear, hear. For a tenant (a race that is relegated to living in another's city) player race, the trolls are everywhere. I am soooooooo tired of the troll instances (Yeah, what animal gods do these trolls worship? Getting old) . The Taurans/Taunka's would be a good instance, or even some of the major NPC races might be a good change.
Dbooker Jan 29th 2009 3:56PM
Well, there is a good reason that Troll instances are everywhere. They are one of the original races that first populated Azeroth after (During?) the time Yogg-Saron got his butt whooped. They are older than the Elves and it's no surprise they are pissed at them (Zul'jin/Zul'Aman)
As for the trolls be a tenant race, that's only one, very small tribe of trolls, the Darkspear, and they do have a place to live of their own. They live on the islands off the south east end of Durotar. They don't have a capital of their own because that's not how they do things. The Darkspear are Forest Trolls, who aren't terribly big on build huge, lasting cities.
Rijthul Jan 29th 2009 7:05PM
Hate to get on your case, dude, but we're JUNGLE trolls, not forest trolls. The forest trolls are up north - Zul'Jin's boys.
And please. Have you ever been to Stranglethorn? We're all about cities. Big ones. They've just all seen better days. And by that, I mean before the Gurabashi empire imploded on itself and factioned off like nobody's business.
