We got an interesting email tip from Matthew Madinger that the quest
The Air Stands Still is bugged in a really odd and unique way. Namely, it kills Shadow Priests who do it. Intrigued, I checked the WoWhead link and sure enough, several other shadow priests have reported the same bug. Without going into too much detail, our face melting priest friends are reporting that the death knight mobs who are supposed to help with the quest are instead coming over and killing them. In one case this means you get the honor of being killed by a very
important Death Knight, if that's any consolation.
If you're a shadow priest, please be careful when taking this quest, and if you could report back on whether or not it bugged for you we'd appreciate it. I don't have a shadow priest myself, so I was unable to try and see if I got killed.

Maybe if shadow priests L2P, this wouldn't happen.
Holy all the way.
MusedMoose Jan 31st 2009 7:19PM
...yeah, because everyone playing a Shadow priest plays them the same, and speccing Shadow automatically means you suck at the game...
..twit.

Yeah really; if you wanted to play a warlock, why did you roll a priest? Shut up and heal imo.
Kriegle Feb 2nd 2009 3:31PM
Because Warlocks suck, and in MY opinion Shad Priests are the sickest class in the game.
Why would i want to heal someone if they could potentially be a jerk like you?

I had no problem doing this quest on my spriest a couple of months ago.

Wow, that's a strange bug. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Yath'amon is a Shadow Priest? I've already done this quest, or I'd respec and try it, but I had no problem as Holy.

.... no

This proves, that DKs hate shadow priests

I know it's pretty cruel to mention, but this bug made me seriously laugh out loud.
I mean, it's completely absurd. Either a specific talent is to blame, or a programmer at Blizzard has a very mean sense of humor. Either way, it is a completely bizarre bug that will no doubt get fixed soon enough.
Hang in there, face-melters!

makes you wonder what happen if a group of Spriests try it, could they take out the Dks, or perhaps more interesting, if they brought people to heal them, would the non Spriests build up aggro? Would they see two green units fighting?

Next up during the hunting challenge quest in Sholozar, the guy just shoots you instead of the game animals. Instead of confronting Arthas, Tirion Fordring just backhands you with Ashbringer. Instead of fighting your own insanity against Herald Voljaz, your other party members just kill you thinking you are one of the mobs.

Only if you are shadow priest.
Churnme Jan 31st 2009 7:49PM
Must be a patch thing, I did that quest fine as a shadow priest a while back.
Tipp Jan 31st 2009 7:52PM
Same here, I did it pre-3.0.8 no problem
Anaef Jan 31st 2009 7:49PM
Interesting, I did this quest specced as shadow and didn't run into any problems at all. Maybe it's a specific talent?

All of these people telling priest to reroll holy or disc are the ones gonna be screaming for one in LFG for heroic Naxx.
charlotte Feb 1st 2009 7:31AM
Worked fine for me!

more proof that blizz hates spriets
Korenn Jan 31st 2009 8:32PM
Similar to this, if you're a shadowpriest fighting mobs near ebon watch, the guards will first come help you kill the mob, then turn around and bash your face in. I'd bet the same happens near Shadowvault.
I guess those guys don't want to take chances on any shadowpriest joining the Lich King.
Caiginn Jan 31st 2009 8:57PM
It worked fine for me; not sure what the talent might be that causes it.
I'm pretty sure my shadow priest was 78 or 79 around then, so 12-13/0/57 would have been the spec.
