Blizzard to attend E3
Activision-Blizzard (or is it Blizzard-Activision?) will be attending E3 this year from June 2nd to June 4th. E3 is also called the Electronic Entertainment Expo and features a wide variety of companies and their products. The expo is being held at the LA convention center, so it's right outside Blizzard's Irvine offices.Activision-Blizzard didn't attend the 2008 E3. No one really knows why. But this year their attendance will be welcomed for all those going. And if you're thinking about going, you probably won't be able to – unless you work in the industry. But fear not, the Joystiq network always sends a crew out there to cover it. Our own Dan O'Halloran should be in attendance as well.
Check out our sister site Joystiq for more information.
Oh, you thought you could get away from the pet image? Haven't seen it on the site for a few months? Oh no... snap.

Argh the pet image
Also, possibly some new info on the mmo they are supposedly working on, and that's why they're going to E3?

Wasn't that when E3 08 went to the crap bin and almost every left it to rot? E3 is supposed to go back to what it was before they nerfed it.

I hope they release some interesting information there.

I miss the E3 of old, hopefully this is a sign of things to come. It was great for everyone, except game journalist and smaller studios who were lost in the bright lights.

Blactivision didn't go to E3 in 2008 because it was still recovering from the merger and it wasn't certain where the Vivendi products were going to land. They (Vivendi) also didn't go in 2007, because they didn't have anything really newsworthy to show.
Nothing terribly conspiracy filled.

"Activision-Blizzard didn't attend the 2008 E3. No one really knows why."
Except for the part where they left he ESA (the organization that puts on E3) and said that they didn't believe being part of E3 that year would be beneficial to them. Plus Blizzard has both Blizzcon and WWI going on, so E3 wasn't needed on the Blizzard side of things.
Assuming Blizzcon/WWI happens again this year, don't expect anything from Blizzard at E3. It'll be all Activision/Vivendi stuff.

Need to remember also that Activision Blizzard is Activision with the new name and not Blizzard. Just because Activision Blizzard is there does not mean Blizzard will be.
