Breakfast Topic: Titillating titles

I know our Guild Master is five Exalted reputations away from being The Exalted. I personally think that's awesome and we're going to help him in any way we can. All my wife wanted for her leveling Priest was to be a Chef, only to meet a roadblock when she found out she couldn't do the Kungaloosh quest yet (she's only Level 74). We came close several times to getting The Undying, even getting past Heigan, so I'm sure that's in the cards pretty soon. There are so many awesome titles now it's interesting to find out what people like.
David asked in his Livejournal what people thought the most prestigious title was. Readers chimed in to say what they thought were the tough titles to get. Salty got a few mentions, as well as the obviously insane Immortal. Today, though, I'm not interested in finding out what the most prestigious title is. I'm more curious to know what titles you've already obtained and what you choose to display. Some of you guys probably have a lot of titles to choose from. What makes you choose the title you display? Maybe you chose the incredibly simple Explorer for your character named Dora? Or keeping the old world PvP title of General for a toon named Anaesthesia? Some choose humor, some choose prestige, and others... well, some just like how a title sounds. How about you?

So far I've gotten Jenkins, Merrymaker, Elder, and Ambassador. I usually have the Ambassador title showing.

I only have Jenkins, and Champion of the Frozen Wastes titles. Guess which I have on me (lol).
I have a guildie named Jorah the Explorer (makes me giggle).

XXXXXX. Hand Of A'dal
That's a title. only had to kill, if i remember correctly, Nightbane, Gruul, Maggy, Karathress, Al'ar, Vashj, Kael and Winterchill for that one, all of them (except Rage) tougher than any fight in Wrath save Sarth 3D.
So Yeah, I'm sticking with it.

I got's me the Elder, Master Sergeant (if you count old pvp titles), and The Explorer, next on my hit list is ambassador as im revered with all the home factions except the gnomes who are nearly revered!

None of my characters have earned any titles yet, but I work with a guy who had a gnome named "Parts", who earned the PvP title of "Private" and never PvPed again.
...yeah, Blizzard made him change his name eventually...

There was a guy on my old server named Motors who similarly got his old-school PvP rank to General and stopped there, thus General Motors.
Although if I were that Private Parts dude, I'd be a little ticked at whichever GM forced the name change, particularly with so many malakas running around with guild/arena names like "Naga Stole My Bike."

I think I have 11 titles or something, but Loremaster is the only one I really care about and worked actively to achieve (incidentally, I got Seeker, Explorer and Ambassador while working towards Loremaster). To me, it's just the title that indicates that you've made the most out of this game - in my humble opinion, of course.
Tiger Feb 2nd 2009 10:49AM
Yeah cause walking from point A to point B and clicking 1400 times really is the heart of this game.
Faldrath Feb 2nd 2009 11:00AM
No... but actually reading the quest texts and getting involved in the story the game is trying to tell and why do you do all that clicking is the point of the game - at least for me.

Everyone has their own game in World of Warcraft. I also agree with Faldrath, since my favorite thing to do in WoW is to do any Quests I come up with. Already got The Seeker [3000 Quests] title and I'll work on the missing Kalimdor Quests once I find some time to get the Loremaster :)
Currently sporting "Rolf the Seeker" as my title. Before that, I didn't use any titles although I had many like Hand of A'dal, Champion of the Naaru, Knight (the only PvP title I bothered to get despite my dislike of PvP :)), Guardian of Cenarius, etc.

Tiger, I think you just earned the title of A$$. Leave the kid alone.
Myk Feb 2nd 2009 8:11AM
I'd like Chef title. And Elder. I could never put up with cooking, though. Not many titles go along with the name Myerskosu, y'know?
Renevant Feb 2nd 2009 8:13AM
I'm with Faldrath - I have about 11 different titles, including Twilight Vanquisher, but I still find Loremaster the most prestigious. There's something to be said about having done all of those quests (I got my title pre-nerf) in all those zones...
Blake Feb 2nd 2009 10:49AM
Just curious - you think it's a nerf because it went from 730 to 700? Yet they removed quests that count towards the 700, so is it still a nerf? If they remove quests and lower the quest count, it seems pretty fair.
vexis58 Feb 2nd 2009 12:57PM
It's not a nerf, because some quests were incorrectly being attributed to the wrong continent. They fixed that bug, and lowered the quest count to match the total amount of quests that are actually in Kalimdor.

I'm sporting the Chef title because I'd rather be known for my culinary skills rather than my exploring skills.
Flec Feb 2nd 2009 8:14AM
ah the good old "the Argent Champion" extremely easy to get but SO fitting for my pally :)
