Coming up in the month of February...
There's always something going on in the World of Warcraft, and the month of February is no exception. We've got the Lunar Festival in full swing, Love is in the Air on the horizon, and a Chris Metzen signing out in New York.Take a look after the break for our complete rundown of all the February events. And remember to check your in-game calendar to see what times these events begin on your sever, and then compensate for the time zone you live in.
Of course throughout all this month we'll keep you abreast on the latest news!

The Darkmoon Faire
February 2nd through February 9th
This time the faire will be held in Terokkar Forest, so you'll need to head to that ghost town that is Outlands to visit it. You'll be able to turn in those nice new Wrath of the Lich King decks and be all happy and stuff.
Love is in the Air
February 11th through February 16th
Do you have that lovin' feeling? Woah, that lovin' feeling. Is it gone, gone, gone? If so, don't worry, because love is in the air, and you'll get that lovin' feeling back my friend. While this world event is active you'll be working towards getting the achievement Fool For Love, which will give you the title "The Love Fool." Keep a watch on WoW Insider for more information on this event in the following days.
Lunar Festival Ends
February 12th
The Lunar Festival will be ending Thursday February 12th. But don't count on it to end at an exact time, those have been known to be wrong. Try to get everything you need done by the 11th (that's a Wednesday). For more information on the Lunar Festival, check out Dan O'Halloran's great guide to getting all the achievements.

NY ComicCon
New York, New York
February 6th through February 8th
Chris Metzen is going to be at the NY ComicCon this year. We understand that he'll be signing some stuff, although it doesn't look like any talks are scheduled. We'll be watching closely while he's there, and are always looking for pictures and video of him signing things and talking with the fans. So if you get some, be sure to drop us a tip!

Warsong Gulch
January 30th through February 3rd
Strand of the Ancients
February 6th through February 10th
Arathi Basin
February 13th through February 17th
Eye of the Storm
February 20th through February 24th
Alterac Valley
February 27th through March 3rd

The Darmoon Faire
March 9th through March 16th
Elwynn Forest
Game Developers Conference (GDC)
March 23rd through March 27th
San Francisco, California
Jeff Kaplan will be speaking at the GDC this year. We'll have you covered!

Is this a new feature? If so, me likey! If not, me STILL likey.
Thanks for giving us a quick heads up on the month ahead.

I think so. Some months might be a little light, but others will be packed full. I know that in March there's not a whole lot going on. But April through August is pretty full of stuff already (and there should be the WWI and BlizzCon in there somewhere too).
Thanks for your comment. =)

The Darkmoon Faire is listed as running from February 2 to February 9 on the official site (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/events/calendar/), not until the 16th as listed above.

Looks like I'll be taking some vacation days between 2-11 and 2-16. While I was able to knock out the Elder achievement in a 5 day window I did so without stress because I knew I had a few weeks. Now that I have a work week to do so I'm not so sure I'll finish in time without budgeting some time.

The Claw Feb 2nd 2009 5:39PM
Gonna be a bit tricky for WoW Insider to put patch 3.1 in a "coming up in the month of ..." segment, since we never know when a patch is going to drop until it drops.

Sorry to be a bit of a negative response - but you can look in your calander and get the same information - all bar the RL conference which wont really count for 99% of readers (and imo is the ONLY bit in this article that had merit). This is the 1st article i really believe to be a waste of space. Sorry - no offense to anyone (esp not u adam - i read and enjoy most of your articles - as you can probably tell by all the comments i make :) ) but if you can click the calander and read whats coming up (and the calander gives the times as well as dates), then what is the point of this article?
Oh and for completeness surely the Stranglethorn Fishing competition should be mentioned (it IS and event after all - a weekly one - but still an event).
Please include more relavent material (like more RL WOW related events - from round the world maybe? - after all it says upcoming events - not upcoming american events) if this is going to be a regular feature.
PS please excuse the bad spelling - im dislexic (really i am! officially diagnosed and documented), and do try to check and spell correctly - but i miss things i know
