Forum post of the day: Tick Tock

There are some things that seem odd, but actually appear to be common. Some examples include jumping when charging or when summoning a flying mount, obsession with repairing gear, and checking out what every linked item looks like. I have some of the habits mentioned in the thread, and a few others:
- I say "For Pony!" in vent when I charge a boss- with varying degrees of enthusiasm.
- I name my mounts- Muffin is still my favorite, whenever I rez my favorite healer I whisper "Arise, my champion!" and he usually responds with "At your side, milady."
- I check out every drop before I press greed in a group, even though I know I don't need greens.
- When I'm getting my bearing, I turn to the right.
- I jump when I go into instances.
- I have a Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard, I change the back-light color to red for arenas.
It's good to know that my behaviors are not really that out of line. What are your ticks, quirks, and other rituals?

When talking in guild chat I run around in circles constantly..Also, I jump whenever I shield-bash to interrupt a spell.

I do the same thing when talking on vent or skype, usually mounted. I did this in the Undercity bank area once, running up the ramp, jumping off to the bottom, again and again...
Needless to say there was laughter in vent when I unexpectedly died from the accumulated fall damage.

I always Jump at the last second as i'm mounting landmount, so that mount appears as i'm still going up in jump lol

Doing a few steps before mounting.
I think it's something I got used to, to make sure I"m save.
I always walked to the nearest savespot and got mounted there.
Now I'm even do those steps when they are not neccessary.

I never run through other players and NPCs if I can help it -- I tend to run around them.
Xerous Feb 2nd 2009 9:27AM
This.. I also tend to never run up to like quest givers on a mount.

I try to avoid running through players, too. Unless they're being dicks. ;)

I alwaaays jump when im on my mechanostrider, and i also always jump when i use my hammer of wrath as a pally =)
Hu Feb 2nd 2009 9:13AM
I always step aside when a large mob falls in my direction, so it won't land on me. Gnome's gotta be careful :)
Torgall Feb 2nd 2009 9:17AM
I always press jump (while mounted) whenever I attack a mob/player with melee (mostly Wing Clip)

I tend to check out what every single item looks like when its linked. Even if it was just linked. Also i have to spin around if im standing still. Movement is key!

When I'm in a raid, wether entering Wintergrasp or before engaging a boss, I love to use my Toy Train Set (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44606) of my Piccolo of the Flaming Fire. Eventhough I prefer hearing 25 man go choo-cho, I also like to see them dance :P It actually got me kicked out a raid a few times :P
Jeff Feb 2nd 2009 9:26AM
I'm also guilty of this. When doing a PuG raid, it works like a barometer of the mood and attitude of the leaders.
Moketronics Feb 2nd 2009 9:31AM
HOLY CRAP! I'd kick you out of raid for that. That ... stuff... is SO ANNOYING.
Seriously, cut that crap out.
pandahirm Feb 2nd 2009 9:55AM
haha! Sorry for annoying you then :) But it usually gets some people smiling and adds some humour to the raid :P people often start dancing, jumping, /cry-ing /flirt-ing or /silly-ing... or indeed.... they kick me ^^

The first time someone dropped a train set as everyone was furiously defending the Orb in Wintergrasp, I cracked up.
vexis58 Feb 2nd 2009 12:51PM
I probably would have booted you from the raid too... at least before I got my mod that removes train noises from the game.
If it was a piccolo though, and you used it more than once, I have no patience for that. I don't get why people insist on spamming it over and over again. The only way that ISN'T annoying is if you play with the sound off.
DeathPaladin Feb 2nd 2009 4:39PM
The person probably wasn't using the item multiple times. Using the Piccolo puts a buff on the player that causes it to continuously cast so long as the person does not move or perform most actions.

@ keith
rightfully so :) but I do feel the necessity to state that I just do this whenever the time feels right. If you're in a raid that's well organized and can handle a little fun, it really doesn't hurt the raid. It just adds a little hilarity to it :P well that's my 50 cents :D

I not only have to logout inside of an inn, but I need to /lie on whatever they have to offer before I /sleep.
