WoW Insider Show Episode 75: The Meat of the Show
Wacky times on the podcast this past week -- along with BRK and Turpster, we were able to welcome our good friends Shawn Coons and Patrick Beja of the How I WoW podcast. They talked with us about themselves, including Shawn's recent move, and Patrick's ongoing campaign to get his parents to play videogames, and we talked a whole lot of World of Warcraft, too. We answered emails about the correct pronounciation of "Fah-jord", how Blizzard can get more players on the PTR, and what to do to get into a good guild, and during the show we broke down the latest bugfix patch, talked about the Lunar Festival (and why we weren't interested in it), a little bit about group management and how best to do it, and we ran down exactly how we WoW, too. Also, we've got some great fan audio in the show as well -- an excellent intro, and perhaps the best thing we've ever played on the song ever: a "Meat of the Show" intro by listener Sammy T. Seriously, give this thing a listen -- we played part of it during the show, but you can hear the whole thing afterwards, and it's great. If you'd like to send us an intro or just a note about something you've heard on the show or want us to answer, the email address is theshow@wow.com -- just drop an mp3 attachment in there or speak your mind, and you might hear it on next week's show.
Remember, we do this live every Saturday at 3:30pm Eastern over on the Ustream page, so if you're around next Saturday, be sure to stop by and say hi. We'll see you next week -- enjoy the show.

Dude, where can I get an Eastern Kingdoms shaped steak?
Alex Ziebart Feb 2nd 2009 1:00PM
Hmm, I dunno. Looks more like Kalimdor to me.

I'm trying to listen to the podcast here on the site while i'm at work, but for some reason everyone sounds like chipmunks! I've listened to many previous episodes and this has never happened before. Just wondering if it's my computer or if other people are also listening to chipmunk versions of Mike and the gang?
Jeremy Feb 3rd 2009 10:26AM
I am having this same issue. All chipmunk. All the time.

please don't play that "meat of the show" song again.
Alex Feb 2nd 2009 2:37PM
C'mon guys. It's pronounced 'f-yord'. Like Bjork, you don't say the J like b-jork. You guys keep saying it wrong and I don't know about everyone else but I feel like I'm listening to my grandparents talk about WoW.
MrNobody Feb 15th 2009 5:47AM
Dude. It's a joke.

Gah, seriously cant get the same right time to come on and watch the show, i made a countdown till 3:30 Eastern Standard time (north america) so is that right or what, coz if thats right the show should be on in 15 mins, but its not, its already been on, this is starting to become frustrating. Also the Ustream page says the show is supposed to be on at 12:30 saturdayPST...which just adds more confusion. May i suggest every week making a link to a count down timer that is when the show starts, as i know im not the only person who is having this problem. here is a link to a pretty solid one.

I'm 15 minutes into the show and I still haven't heard anything remotely WoW-related. And no, the pronounciation of "Fjord" doesn't count.
The podcast is not about listening to Mike Schramm fellate himself listening to the sound of his own voice.

Tell Alea Iacta Es to stop going out of their way to annoy/grief Alliance on Earthen Ring... so annoying... happens to me all the time. Tell them to stop... please....
elstor Feb 2nd 2009 7:56PM
Ha... as I'm listening to the show, I hear "Alea Iacta Es's number one rule is to not be a jerk" I suggest you start kicking...

Hey,
Thanks for mentioning the Chicago crew.
For anyone else that's interested, head on over to http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49370660411
Or roll a Horde alt on Ghostlands and say hey to Surt, Pag, Churuzinil, Ozirius, or Bearcatbird of the Drunk Bus guild.
Hugs!

Sammy T. sounds like a rapper name... kinda fitting
bellyboy Feb 3rd 2009 8:16AM
That Patrick Beja has the most annoying robotic voice ever. Is it filtered somehow? How can he host a podcast?
Butts Feb 12th 2009 11:27AM
I kind of like his voice...
