The mechanic is different because of it's proc rate and its single targeting, but it probably helps a little.

I think it's worth mentioning its futility or usefulness.

They don't have a Replenish Talent. You may be thinking of the Innervate spell, which increases your mana regen by 400%, and is on an (iirc) 5 minute cooldown. Only three specs have replinishment.

Frost mages have the water elemental, but sadly they aren't raid competitive (I say sadly because my main is a mage, and I love frost, but the DPS just isn't there...)
