Tuesday Morning Post: The calm before

Whatever else, there's not going to be much going on this morning. downtime is a set of simple rolling restarts starting at 5 AM Pacific. Proudmoore and Tichondrius players do have to suffer through an extra hour's downtime, though. Luckily, you have WoW Insider to browse while you wait. As usual, I've rounded up a list of some of the best stories and content from the past seven days after the break.
Hot News and Features
- Yes, these 3.1 patch notes are fake. We pretty much knew or suspected as much when we posted them. Still, they're relatively well done and fun to discuss.
- But here's some genuine 3.1 news: We have a sneak preview of some of the new Tier 8 armor.
- Big Red Kitty had some problems with the latest patch.
- BlizzCast Episode 7, which included an interview with loremaster Chris Metzen, came out this week.

- Alas, Arcane Mages, you got some nerfs in the latest patch.
- Encrypted Text offers more guidance to new raiding rogues with a gear guide.
- Beastmastery Hunters got the dev team to admit what most them had been saying for weeks: The nerfs were too much. With that in mind, Scattered Shots is once again waxing philosophical on the future of the Hunter.

Tired of complaining to Blizz ... yeah, that sums it up pretty much.
I made a ticket about the unreachable mining-veins in WinterGrasp, but I guess they deleted it without even bothering to respond ...
So I guess we're gonna have to fly in and out of the zone using those small patches of next-zone to lift off, fly for 10 seconds and hope we remembered just where those veins where (in one case, the approach is impossible to get correct)
Why design a zone with flight in mind, and then make it a no-fly-zone?

The biggest change I've seen post-patch-3.0.8a is that now I have lag spikes, without warning, just about anywhere in the game.

Make a ticket for it and watch it get erased like it never happened :D
Comments on Blizz-side: "It got lost due to the lag that doesn't exist"

'Alas arc mages got nurfed'
Well speaking as a mage, i STILL say it was completely justified. Arc mages are getting us a bad name - what with the actually competing in PVP and even winning. Shocking eh. What will they think of next. Balanced classes for all? Bah Humbug i say!
ROFL
Sorry just a laugh
Really tho - i AM a mage, and even i say arc was a bit too OP, and so do other mages i know. In our guild its refered to as the 'dark side' for mages, due mostly to the other classes being killed by one.
A quick question tho - not sure where to post it so ill ask here - my PC's dying (motherboards been fried by too much WOW i think)- and im going to upgrade to 64 bit dual cores, and im going to test the beta Windows 7 (it looks FAR better than vista ever did) - does anyone know if theres any issues with running WOW on the new OS before i spend many hours building it?
Thanks

Are they going to fix the various bugs associated with quest mounts any time soon? I'm tired of having my health and status portrait bar disappear every time I fly around to kill those scarlett dudes.
