WoW Moviewatch: Keep Browsing
Warning: The language is not appropriate for work.
Keep Browsing is the freshman machinima effort of Swedish author Mozq. Mozq assures us that it's not going to be his last. It's a strong first video, and promises a lot of good things in the future. While the style reminds me somewhat of Wrath of a Couch Potato, the author does a good job of making the format meaningful for each tiny clip.
Like Seth Green's "Robot Chicken," this video features short moments of comedy. Each visual segment is set up and executed very quickly, mostly drawing on the audience's memes and knowledge about the mis en scene to skip any preliminaries. Of course, if you're not steeped in geek or internet culture, a lot of the jokes might buzz by you.
Mozq gives a shout out to machinima greats like Baron Soosdon, from whom he's apparently drawn some level of inspiration. I think this first effort comedy piece is pretty strong. I'm not sure if the micro-segment format is really my thing, but it definitely makes for a quick and easy watch.

LOL. I almost sent this one in myself to you guys yesterday but figured with the language you wouldn't show it. Glad you did though. Its freakin funny.

No it's not.

"If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch..."
Yes actually. I do: find some videos that aren't bad.
I give the creator of this video an A for effort but a F for execution. It was a blatant attempt at leeching some humor from the Robot Chicken schtick and it failed. Awesomely.
The editing was good quality but the whole thing had no substance. It wasn't funny. I didn't even snicker, or even crack a grin, through the whole thing.
A good video of nothing is still just a video of nothing.

KANGAROO SHONG! Lol...

I'm getting really sick of this "Comedy Barrage" thing that's getting so prolific.
It's cheap and easy - there's no need to set up a joke, or weave them into a holistic plot. It's just joke, joke, joke, joke, joke - with absolutely no value beyond easy gags.
The nature of good hilarity has gotten so far away from Fawlty Towers, which represents the greatest achievement of brilliant funny, to a point where we've filed away everything that isn't a punchline.
It's boiled down humour - and I'm not sure that appeals to me anymore.

THANK YOU!
i agree 100 % with this statement, i was gonna say that if I wanted to see a Robot Chicken spoof, i would watch Robot Chicken...

@OP
To compare a 3 minute amateur machinima to a famous british sitcom is a bit of a stretch, no?
@jordandaniels
Except each scene in Robot Chicken takes days, even weeks to film and each character is animated by hand, frame by frame. Probably takes about 10 minutes of editing to throw together one of these short clips...
@Michael Grey
I haven't enjoyed a lot of the posts to this column, but this one made me smile, at least.

For those of you who enjoy AMVs (anime music videos), the format is quite similar to the hugely popular AMV Hell series. Due to the relative cinematographic freedom that machinema has over AMV's, this video leaves a bit to be desired with regards to creating comedic connections between what is seen and what is heard.
However, due to the nature, he can get away with it because people will identify with one or two of the scenes and think that the video is really good.
Overall, it could be more consistently funny, but is very good for a first piece.

What armor is that BE wearing during the killer's song?
Drow Feb 4th 2009 2:22PM
It's the Hunter T4 armor. It's either the Raiding or PvP equivalent...can't tell with the lighting.

I certainly seem to recall seeing a machinima much like this in the past. Not sure on the maker, but he used this avatar of a gnome mage, and had a similar pattern of movie videos, singalongs, random TV/film sequences in quick succession.
Don't think all the jokes worked on me though. What, is Breast Inspector Cam an advert Over There then?

Good thing I have headphones at work ;)
I laughed. Enjoyed the Pedobear cameo.
Sure it wasn't a masterwork piece, but for a brief giggle I can't complain.

This is the worst machinima yet. Every clip was dull, unfunny, and down right flat. I can't think of a worse way to waste my time than watching this pile of rubbish.
I want my time back.

For a first effort, I give it a 4/5. The quality was better than most, even if the format isn't my speed.
