Actually Holy Nova is already a decent healing spell, glyphed its very similar in HPS to unglyphed Prayer of Healing, without the large drawback of the extra heals coming in the form of a small hot. And, its only a little behind on HPM at this time and will pull ahead with the cost reduction. And while its still party only, somnetimes everyone takes damage and an instant cast spell to help catch your party up before topping off the raid can certainly be helpful.
If you're interested in the math behind this its well laid out at the PlusHeal forums. http://www.plusheal.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=559

Holy nova could have a nice healing output with the glyph, yes, but. There's always a but. The damage reduction makes it less worthy. I like having an instacast AOE ability. It often proves useful when doing lower level content or soloing (when 3 mobs hit you it's hard to cast anything longer than that, and pw: shield doesn't last for long to protect you).
I don't support reducing the dps on Holy Nova.

I agree with JaneLame. I might glyph it up some other time when dual specs come out and I can quest/solo as shadow, but as it is, Holy Nova is the only way I can clear through low-level instances half efficiently or kill things + stay alive when I get adds and I'm alone.

Best use of holy nova is with the Exalted Oracle trinket in HCoS. Pop it and it's like a mana pot.
My wife sat in melee range of Loetheb this week as Discipline and would use it. We put her in the group with the melee. She had the tank and the melee all topped off pretty much every time the debuff left thanks to the soap bubbles and holy nova.
