Breakfast Topic: 3.1nticipation
Only a few changes have been announced so far, but I know you're all excited. I know I am. Patch 3.1 promises to be a big one -- it'll contain Ulduar, some class balance changes, and maybe, just maybe, dual-specs. That's a really fat patch right there. Yesterday, Eyonix announced some of the changes coming to Priests, Rogues, and Shamans. Some of the changes were kind of a surprise to me, actually, like Divine Spirit becoming a baseline ability. On the other hand, our very own Matticus seems to have pulled a Nostradamus and foresaw Power Word: Barrier making its way into the game.Sure, it might not turn out to be a 51-point talent (it'll likely replace the 21-point Divine Spirit in the Discipline tree), but that's as close as anyone can get to guessing Blizzard's next move. So hey, it's Breakfast Topic time! Let's play a little game since I know you're about as bored as I am and equally excited to find out what's on Blizzard's agenda.
Whip out your

I just really want Duel Spec's for my Druid...
LostOne Feb 5th 2009 10:31AM
Druids count as exotic beasts, and become tamable by Beast Mastery hunters.

To be honest, it happened in UB, didn't it?

I think 3.1 will be the patch where they realize that the best way to truly balance BM hunters is to give them the ability to control two pets at once.
...excuse me while I duck. *grin*

They'll probably announce, shortly after release, that once again a nerf was harder than intended but they'll only be able to fix it in 3.2
And also the new tier 1 deathknight talent: "I-win-PVP-button"

Upcoming Blizzard Patch 3.1 Notes-
Hunter
Stable Game - Throughout the years, your pets have grown to know their stable as a place to rest and wait until called upon to serve. But now the time has come to give you a chance to play with the pets you have in the stable! The Stable Game has a set of Stable Rules that add a challenge to this minigame. See if you can catch them all!
well, that's how I read your post at least... heh

Bravo!

I think they'll change all class talent trees so that one tree is explicitly the PvP tree, and the other two PvE. Or maybe add a fourth tree for PvP and keep the other three the same. It would make everything so much clearer!

Hunters will finally be able to shoot while running, even Steady Shot.

Why have trees at all if your after simplicity?
We could just have 3 switches for pve/pvp etc.
IMO to have them labeled in suc ha way defeats the purpose of the trees.

Water Elemental mana regeneration aura will just turn into a flat out replenishment. You heard it here, folks!
krizzlybear Feb 5th 2009 8:19AM
Yeah, it's called clicking "OK" when the bg is available to join ^_^
krizzlybear Feb 5th 2009 8:20AM
Ugh, I fail at replying to posts. that was directed at the "I-win-PvP" button

I think Paladin's will finally get a AOE Battle rez with a 1 hour cooldown.
SteveV Feb 5th 2009 8:47AM
Not battle-rez, that is druid territory, but how about a raid-rez, that'd be nice, save some time :)
Ed Feb 5th 2009 8:55AM
I'd settle for a raid rez.
SimpleSurvival Feb 5th 2009 10:37AM
A 1hr CD would be pretty rough for a raid-rez...
I'd be down for an AOE battle rez, it would change a bunch of fights tho... I think the CD would have to be longer than 1h if it ressed more than 2-3 people. It would be tricky tho... right now with the current bres, your healers have to be on the ball, otherwise your bres target dies shortly after coming back and gets dinged with 20% durability loss. Spread that out among 3+ people and it would mean that all your 10m healers or half your 25m healers would have to swap their attention, coordinate, and heal up the newly ressed.
I think that a pally AOE bres would be within the spirit of the class. Too bad it could easily be quite OP.
Wouldn't want to give them a single target bres tho... unique snowflake and all... roll a drood if you want that.
A Raid-Res to handle wipe recover... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
instead of standing around casting tons and tons of resses cuz you were the one who got DI'd... one click, raid is back up, get to drinking and buffing to prepare for the next wipe!

How about a Priest only mace which has a mana free rez with no CD?
