Sapphiron and Malygos hotfixes
Just in time for everyone's raiding tonight, Lead Encounter Designer Daelo has announced two important hotfixes that have gone live.Sapphiron and Malygos both should now be working as intended.
Sapphiron's Frost aura has been hotfixed to return to levels that we've all seen previous to patch 3.0.8. This means there should be 1200 damage every 2 seconds in the 10-man version, and 1600 damage every 2 seconds in the 25-man version. Note however that the tooltip is incorrect, in that it says the damage occurs every second. According to Daelo this will be fixed in the next client patch (and no, there is no indication of when that is).
As for Malygos...
He's been hotfixed to add a small amount of time from the point when he lands after the Vortex to the point where he does his Arcane Breath. Ideally this will let hunter pets get in position. Malygos 10-man should have been working fine already, and this change should only affect 25-man Malygos.
There is no indication if the lag induced and healing-related problems of Malygos have been fixed. I'm betting they have been though.
We'll update this post if we get any more information in on this tonight.

what about maly blowing breath out his ass? that's an unpredictable and irritating bug. would love to see that cleared.

No, it's not actually him blowing breath out of his ass. The hunter pets get hit by the Arcane Breath when he comes down, and then they move into position and all the melee blow up.

Were the levels higher or lower than what they should have been.

sapph's aura was hitting twice as often as normal. The encounter became crazy hard.

Did it become harder? Didn't notice... but then again, I'm just a dps and we don't notice anything other than the bigness of a boss's ass.

In bugged encounters, the frost aura was ticking around 3 times per 2 seconds (when it should have been ticking once).
I believe this only happened on 10 man... hadn't heard of anyone getting it on 25 man, at least on my server. Also, not every group got a bugged encounter, so if you didn't notice it as DPS, you probably didn't get a bugged one.
When you did get a bugged encounter it was very noticeable - healers just could not keep up with the frost aura damage. The first week we got the bug, we had 3 healers in our 10 man group, and I was the only one who had a frost resist set (but even then, the damage was unhealable for our group). The second week, we had two healers with 25 man gear, and the only way we could get through it was to have our offtank get on his 25-man geared resto shaman - even then it was hard. Most groups had to do 4 healers or give up.

...So locks being able to Demonic Circle port our of the vortex is intended then. Awesome :)
