Two Bosses Enter: The Wrath season lineup

With two matches under our belts already this season, it's time to lay out the season's preliminary lineup of bosses from Wrath of the Lich King's five-man instances. Two Bosses Enter, One Boss Leaves is our series of fantasy death matches between the game's infamous PvE villains.
The central tenet of a Two Bosses matchup is an assumption that the bosses are of approximately the same level and health. It's fighting abilities and style we're debating here – so don't get caught up in actual game mechanics. Consider the flavor each villainous gladiator brings to bear, and cast your vote for who you think would come out on top.
Join us after the break to see the first round of pairings for this seasons' five-man Wrath boss death matches.

This is gonna take a while.....

Exactly what I was thinking...Next expansion will be out by the time this is finally finished! The first round should be cut in half time-wise IMO, 2 per week. This should cut down on the time considerably. Only downside is you might not get as many votes per fight, but judging by how things are going, it's going to be pretty clear who wins in the first round.

Here's my thoughts on how the next few will go:
> Commander Kolurg (Horde) or Commander Stoutbeard (Alliance) (The Nexus)
vs.
Erekem (Violet Hold)
Commanders, because, since they both have two adds, I'm assuming they're allowed, and the Commander's adds can heal. Also, Commander's whirlwind would decimate Erekem's guards.
> Eck the Ferocious (Gundrak)
vs.
Amanitar (Ahn'kahet)
Eck, being a creature of a dank area much like Ahn'kahet, and also being able to digest most anything, would probably be able to get enough benefit out of the mushrooms to kill Amanitar. It'd be close, though.
Gal'darah (Gundrak)
vs.
> Krystallus (Halls of Stone)
Krystallus would easily be able to knock away Gal'darah in his Rhino form as well as his Spirit Rhinos.

To bad the Gargoyle in Naxx isn't in there. He'd own every boss without trying.
Nindle Feb 5th 2009 4:40PM
I remember my first try on the Gargoyles...i literally thought "Ah crap, we can't even down the first mob"
Tristina Feb 5th 2009 5:00PM
At least your group wasn't trying to down a 25-man Gargoyle with 10 people because someone forgot to switch the dungeon difficulty.
/facepalm

When the time comes, I'll vote for the Chrono-Lord Epoch just because of his "Tick Tock Tick Tock". >.>
Burix Feb 5th 2009 4:42PM
Are we doing the next round now?
outlier Feb 5th 2009 4:43PM
After the votes are counted, wowinsider should give a short story discussing the battle like ;
Ormorok the Tree-Shaper faced Meathook with less than the hit-cap and as a result was unable to survive Meathook's Frenzy (assuming Meathook wins which he SHOULD).
Khrono Feb 5th 2009 4:48PM
I'm gonna go ahead and put my money on Loken to win it all.
AyaJulia Feb 5th 2009 4:52PM
I don't know, Ley-Guardian Eregos might win that match because NO ONE CAN FREAKING FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE A DRAKE.... sorry.... I'm not bitter. :3
Celmonas Feb 5th 2009 5:11PM
Such insolence... such arrogance... must be PUNISHED!
Thiosion Feb 5th 2009 5:56PM
I was actually demoted for my performance on a drake once.
Whaaaaat? I've never played a healer before.
Jaikain Feb 5th 2009 5:03PM
It's a full TV season (26 episodes) essentially. Not sure if a playoff environment would be possible. After the first round of eliminations, there would only be 13 bosses left... one would be left out... or one of the losers would be brought back. .. not sure.
Either way, I like the concept. :)

Requesting Commander Kolurg VS Commander Stoutbeard bonus round
Dominika Feb 5th 2009 5:13PM
Svala Sorrowgrave is going to sweep this. The only bosses who have a shot against her are those who summon adds.
Juggynaut Feb 5th 2009 5:26PM
Her falling sword doesn't deal nearly enough damage to kill a level 80 boss. It's hard enough to get it to finish off one of the abominations.
Meira Feb 5th 2009 5:49PM
@Juggynaut
"Ritual of the Sword - teleports one party member to the altar and summons three adds which channel spells holding the party member in place. A sword slowly descends toward the altar, and if the adds are not killed by the time the sword reaches the altar it hits the sacrifice target for 100% of its health. "
100%, whether it is 12k or zomg hundreds of millions, it's all the health the target has.
Juggynaut Feb 5th 2009 8:09PM
Ah, right, wowwiki.
I've been directly underneath the sword and lived. According to most it does around 9k damage - not exactly enough to kill any bosses.
Also, there are plenty of bosses that are immune to stuns and therefore would be able to move away from the sword, kill the Ritual Channelers, and probably kill Svala at range before she even came back down from her little ritual.
Dreadskull Feb 5th 2009 5:20PM
Wow, and I thought the Super Smash Brother Melee tournaments were long.
