WoW Moviewatch: Dude, Where's My Mount? Episode 8 -- Awww Nuts
Apt-T Productions is back with the well-anticipated Dude, Where's My Mount? Episode 8 -- Awww Nuts. In terms of ongoing, serial machinima, the DWMM legacy has really been growing. Between DWMM and the Chronicle of the Annoying Quest, fan-film viewers are truly starting to get meaningful, full seasons of entertainment.
In this episode, our bewildered heroes return from the really real world (man), and land back in Azeroth. After a bit of confusion, they get chased around by dragons. And that's when they find the Elf Girl. Interestingly, the credits to this episode thank Felicia Day. (You might have heard of her.) Was the Elf Girl voice-acted by Felicia? I wasn't sure, and couldn't pick out the voice to be certain. Anyway, hijinks continue, and the pair of heroes find themselves in the midst of a squirrel army.
I really feel like DWMM is getting better and better. Like so many serial novels and fiction, the longer the characters exist to gain life and depth, the more interesting they become. The comedic stride is also clearly evolving, as I find myself smiling and laughing a little more with each episode.
Edit: Voice credits at the end conifrm Chelsea Sprauer performed the Elf Girl. Thanks Kincaid!

Its a squirrel! "Why are you running away" "Now its chasing me down" "I love you long time"
This has to be the greatest series of WoW machinima EVER
Holgar Feb 5th 2009 12:12PM
Only Phil would find a massive army of squirrels on some kind of world dominating march then ask them for directions.......
Erogroth Feb 5th 2009 12:17PM
That was great! I love this series. Phil is so great in a completely idiotic way. Too bad machinima.com made them get rid of the intro music. I loved that song.
Ookami.kun Feb 5th 2009 1:58PM
@Erogroth
Agreed, the song was really catchy, though I'm curious why Machinima.com made them get rid of it. I have to admit that I only usually watch them when they are posted here, so I must have missed that announcement somewhere.

pod bay doors what ?
Zuldim Feb 5th 2009 12:29PM
So I opened the video and a gold selling ad took up half the screen.
Just a tip.
Jamesisgreat Feb 5th 2009 2:24PM
Ditto - first the official forums, now this. Those sneaky sneaky gold farmers.....
Goo Feb 5th 2009 1:47PM
ya - wtf - the gold seller banner gotsta go
Yeng Feb 5th 2009 1:51PM
It's a leveling guide banner, not a gold selling banner FYI.
Ookami.kun Feb 5th 2009 2:00PM
Must be a random thing then, cause I too got an ad for Gold, but playing it again I was a "buy gear" ad.
Drakkenfyre Feb 5th 2009 4:24PM
There was both a gold-selling ad and a leveling guide ad.

That's not Felicia Day doing the Elf chick's voice. I imagine they were thanking her for coming up with The Guild and inspiring them to do serialized machinima.
Kincaid Feb 5th 2009 2:39PM
The voice credits at the end of the episode confirm this. "Chelsea Sprauer" did the elf's voice.

Or it's that all things WoW must pay homage to Felicia Day or face the dire consequences, so mentioning her name was the best they could do short of the traditional blood sacrifice.
Why do you think WoW Insider mentions her so often? It's so she doesn't banish their souls to the withering dark.

Actually the DWMM crew met with Felicia Day at PAX 2008, and found out that she was a long time watcher of the show before she began work on "The Guild"

Hey guys, Dave here. Yes, that Dave. To answer a few of the comments questions:
The Felicia Day thanks is indeed there just because she's done a ton to help make webseries what they are today.
The music had to go because machinima.com doesn't want to risk getting sued. From episode one all the way up until now, there's been a steady decline in the use of music we don't have rights to as machinima.com pressured us more and more. Losing the the theme was the last push they made, though we were hoping to keep it "under the radar" until the end of season 1. On the bright side, that lets me do a bit more of what I love, which is scoring the original music we have.
Thanks all, and I hope you keep enjoying the show :)
