Blizzard isn't going to E3 after all

Yeah, turns out it's not going to be happening after all.
While "Activision Blizzard" is going, only the Activison part will be showing up to smile for everyone. It appears the Blizzard part will be staying at home playing Wrath or tiddlywinks and sticking their tongue out at everyone, much like the girl in the picture (which I shamelessly have stolen from our sister site Joystiq who brings us this news).
But I can understand, because Blizzard really doesn't have anything to show at E3. I mean, it's not like they're making three of the hottest games on the planet or anything... Wrath? Diablo 3? StarCraft 2? Never heard of 'em.

Activision will announce their 9001st Spyro game I bet.

'Spyro, Year of the Bacon' sounds good.
Mmm... bacon.

Activision will announce "Guitar Hero: Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain" Edition and it will be awesome. While bearing the name Guitar Hero it will not actually be a rhythm game but rather a point and click adventure coming to Wii Ware.

"I mean, it's not like they're making three of the hottest games on the planet or anything..."
They're not, Relic are.

If you're talking about DoW2 then u r talking about a rts, wich has nothing to do with a game like diablo. Plus DoW2 is a different rts than SC2.

Actually, I think I have heard about Starcraft 2 once, waaaay back in the last millenium .. does that make me an Elder?
Jp Feb 6th 2009 6:19PM
Not until you get all 75 coins this year.
Yeng Feb 6th 2009 3:40PM
Yeah, but why would they announce their new stuff at E3 when they run two of their own successful conventions?
Qualm Feb 6th 2009 7:37PM
Why indeed.

Sadly all decisions are made by accountants, intangibles like advance-buzz and meeting with reps don't balance the same way as paying the fees for E3
Xtofer Feb 6th 2009 3:46PM
Last year made sense. There weren't a lot of companies that showed up for E3 because it wasn't a big show like usual. Meanwhile, Blizzard had two very successful conventions of their own. So this year makes sense too, assuming that they're going to have another WWI and BlizzCon this year.
E3 just doesn't have the same pull as it used to, and Blizzard won't lose anything by not showing up.
Leviathon Feb 6th 2009 3:46PM
They don't need E3 which is so scaled down now that most large companies don't go to it becuase they have their own events such as Blizzcon and the WWI. Course I mentioned this back in the last article that Activison Blizzard =/= Blizzard.

If you're going to link to an article on tiddlywinks, you'd think you'd be able to spell it correctly...

As we are LIKELY to get a whole load of information on Startcraft/Diablo and possibly the next WoW expac (Assuming that we are still on the one Xpac a year idea) it would be kinds stupid to take away from Blizzcon by releasing all that info at E3, and equaly pointless to go to E3 just to say "We'll tell you at Blizzcon!".
Mognet T Feb 6th 2009 3:52PM
I would rather have Blizzard work hard at making these games then attend E3.
Mognet T Feb 6th 2009 3:53PM
*Than, not then. :P
Schadow Feb 6th 2009 4:00PM
If they are not working hard enough to produce even reasonably bug-free systems without the distraction of E3, what makes you think they would work hard instead of going to E3?

Speaking of "Clam Stacking", how dumb is it, that they fixed it so clams STACK, but yet when you OPEN THEM, each piece of clam meat gobbles up it's own slot. That is SO DUMB.
So instead of them REALLY fixing it, all they did was fix stacking clams, but introduced a new bug where you need empty bags just to open up the clams to see what you have inside.
And then you're not finished, you end up having to drag each piece to a slot and manually stack the meat up, to free up bag space.
Hello, the fix was supposed to fix the clams eating up bag space issue, and all it did was introduce another issue.
Why the hell don't they make clams, auto opening, when you loot it, it should be like a chest. It dumps the contents into your bags. There is NO PURPOSE to players running around with CLAMS in our bags, the real thing we NEED is the stuff IN THE CLAMS, the meat or the pearls.
Come Blizz, enough clams, i wouldn't care if you eliminated them all together, just make the mobs drop meat and or pearls themselves. After all you KNOW when you get a clam, it's HELLOOOO, gonna have meat in it, the only "surprise" is if it also contains a pearl. So just make the mobs drop the meat and the pearls and get rid of the clams altogether.
that's it, i'm clammed out!!! LOL

Okay, sorry i vented in the wrong comments section....i deserve it....flame away. LOL
On E3, Blizz should be there, it would be like being CocaCola, the worlds biggest softdrink manufacturer in the world not going to SodaCon 2009
LOL
