Breakfast Topic: Turning our world upside down
How about that. Blizzard dropped bombs of announcements yesterday with the proposed changes to Patch 3.1. Yesterday, I asked what changes you expect or foresee with the new patch, but I don't think any of us seriously expected the huge changes that they announced. Wished for, maybe, but didn't really think it would happen. In fact, some of these changes were more unthinkable than the fake patch notes we had posted earlier. I mean, no more ammunition for Hunters? Wasn't that one of the most wished for wishes in the history of wishland? The closest thing Blizzard ever came to fulfilling this wish was with Thori'dal, the Star's Fury (which I hear is a Rogue weapon). Now, everyone and his uncle can have their own version of the legendary bow. Kind of.
Oh, and guess what? Blessing of Kings is baseline now. Take a moment to reflect on that a moment. It's freaking trainable! The best raid buff in the game is available to all Paladins now, regardless of spec. After years and years of the Paladin community
Patch 3.1 brings us Ulduar, dual specs, significant changes to all the classes, and more! We've got you covered from top to bottom with our Guide to Patch 3.1.Filed under: Patches, Breakfast Topics

How about stackable soulshards, and the soulbag becomes a class-bag, just like the amo-pouch or quiver
ROB13 Feb 6th 2009 8:09AM
Amen to that
Dan Feb 6th 2009 8:10AM
How about just getting rid of soul shards entirely?
rosencratz Feb 6th 2009 8:32AM
Because some of us have been playing a lock for 4 years and never had a problem with shard management?
A more interesting system would be nice but stacking wouldn't remove the problem for the people who run out all the time(It's not about more bag space honest...) and removing them all together would be a total cop out.
RaQin Feb 6th 2009 2:25PM
How about stacking ALL 'lock shards and stones. Is there a reason that you can only hold onw healthstone at a time...there is already a timer in it anyways!!
Gnosh Feb 6th 2009 8:54AM
What do you mean "class bag"? quivers and ammo pouches eat a bag slot just like soul bags
wrathwillcome Feb 6th 2009 10:00AM
stackable soul shards should be easy to implement and absolutely awesome. Stacks of 50 or even 100 would be just completely cool.

New Dances...Yea.... aawwww...nvm

I want machineguns. With no ammo issues now, I see nothing holding them back. C'mon Blizz, give us machineguns!

eversor, is ur name tristen?

VERY Happy with the Shaman changes proposed, hope there will be more.
Very UNHAPPY with the increasing irreverence of Engineering. Seems like one engineer on the a server could handle the needs of everyone playing. I'd really like to have a compelling reason to keep this.

GRAMMAR POLICE SEZ:
irreverence= showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously
try irrelevance= pointless
the more you know...

Yeah, engineering is becoming less interesting over time, so they'd better add some OP engineers only bazooka that's BOP, only useable at 450, has 5000DPS and a speed of 3, and adds 100 to all stats
Because, let's face it, unless you sit on huge piles of gold, you'll never make that Hog or Chopper
Thander Feb 6th 2009 12:04PM
The flying machine is the only reason to take engineering pretty much. I thought about leveling it for this but spending thousands to level it just for a vehicle seemed kind of pointless. The bike anyone can use and you don't pay a lot more buying it from others vs making it yourself. I guess hunters like it for the guns. The epic head pieces are okay but they don't have every spec covered. Most classes can get much better items elsewhere.

im LOVING the ammo change, they shoukld have not jsut DPS stats, but also like +5 crit ammo, or +10 frost dammage etc..
with engineering they should unlock the BOP, but have engineers/inscribers make "instruction manuals" so non engineers can use things, but like they need 3 to "learn to use it" get some money in for engineers in need
Calaana Feb 6th 2009 8:17AM
I read the base line kings part and thought "Cool.. I wonder how many people still don't realize kings is now 2%".i Your 10% buff takes 5 talent points - 1 for the spell, 4 to improve it. They never mentioned rolling it back into one spell. I hope they do, but have said it was too op to make base line so I'm not exactly holding out.

I have mixed feelings about the ammo change, though I don't have a hunter main. Couldn't they just make ammo a ton cheaper? It seems a shame to make ammo just like any other weapon and remove a unique mechanic.
I really hope they don't screw up shards. It should NOT be a stock up and spend mechanic as much as everyone seems to suggest that with stacking. It should be trickle in, trickle out... we replenish them as we use them. The situations where people feel a need to farm can be targeted and fixed. I still use a 20 shard bag because I only 5 man and don't do arena. They've already done a lot to reduce shard use in raiding, they just need to address PvP.
M Feb 6th 2009 9:02AM
Actually, shards -are- a "stock up and spend" mechanic, unless you want to constantly be farming shards, or you never help lower-level guildies/friends, etc.
Let the shoul shards stack, taking one bag spot, and let the stack size be determined by a trainable "skill" depending on your level.
Deadly. Off. Topic. Feb 6th 2009 11:13AM
I agree about the hunter mechanic. I like the arrows and the bullets. Removing them seems really lame. Just create a separate special bag slot for it like the key rings if people are that lame about wanting one extra bag space.

I'm just waiting for Blizzard to turn around and be like "Oh no, we were just kidding. Remember? We said these were only possibilities, and we changed our mind"
