Around Azeroth: The death aquatic
Some walruses are more angry than mellow. Some walruses are tired of lame internet memes about their buckets. Some walruses want only buckets ... of blood. Varris of Icecrown took this panic-inducing screenshot while testing out if druid aquatic form worked when swimming in lava. Unfortunately for our prospects of a good night's sleep, it did.
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, double-mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran.Filed under: Screenshots, Around Azeroth, Galleries

I fell into the lava at 80 while getting the key for BRD, and actually takes a long time to kill yourself in the lava. It does about 800 dmg a tick with no fire resist.

I miss the lava/aquatic form bug. The game would notice when you jumped out of water and correctly shift you back into caster form... but that check wasn't there when you jumped out of lava. So back in MC, the raid leader would be droning on about the Ragnaros fight, and there would be several druids floating around as uglyseals, chasing people.

Haha! That's one I actually learned the other night. A friend and I did a quick run of BRD (Meaning: Skipped 90% of the bosses/trash) for the elder's coin and for the dungeon achievement. After killing the emperor, I pointed out that there was no back door, so our options were A) Run back through the entire instance, or B) Suicide out. We opted for B, and I giddily discovered that I can use aquatic form in lava. XD
Unfortunately, you can't levitate over lava like you can over water with a priest. At least, not last time I checked which was about half a year ago.

Is that a reference to The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou I see there in the title? :)

To paraphrase John Turturro: "The hideousness of that Walrus will haunt my dreams forever."

Glad to see I'm not the only person who liked that movie. =D
Bill Murray? Anyone know what I'm talking about? ...Anyone? Anyone?
And on the topic of WoW - Druid forms need some loooovveeee! I just LOVE my wyvern head on an unusually hairy lion (?) body!

So do you take damage when waterwalking on Lava? I guess...technically you're not IN the lava (or maybe the game knows what you're up to and damages you anyway). I've never tried it, I'm going to just guess yes... it'll hurt you.
Also agree on Druids needing love. Especially Horde Druids:
Cat Form: Cutting corners™by Blizzard. Modified Wyvern.
Seal Form: Cutting corners™by Blizzard. Nightelf version for both. Just look at those ears on that seal. Typical elf ears.
Flight form - Cutting corners™by Blizzard. They did the work on the Night elf versions and just changed the color for Horde. Which is why, AGAIN, the Tauren version has long elf ears when Tauren don't even have those types of ears.
Bear form: ...I'm actually ok with this, even though I wish its mouth would stay closed and less "fly catching".
Tree form: Cutting corners™by Blizzard. Same as the mob ones.
Travel form (land): Same graphic as mob versions.
Moonkin: Meh... I think you know where this is going...
