Breakfast Topic: Sunday best

When Love is in the Air in a few days, I'm going to dust off my tuxedo set and take some cheesy screenshots with my wife's character in a sexy black dress. One of our big kahunas, Liz Harper, is taking advantage of Level 80 to complete her full Judgement set. It's still one of the coolest armor sets in the game, I think. I mean, even one of the Top 10 players out of millions seems to think so. It made me think about what clothes we wear to look our best. None of us enjoy looking like a clown, right? I'm sure we keep some outfits stashed away in our ever-filling bank. What do you whip out when you're asked to wear your Sunday best? That Admiral's Hat, maybe? Or Blue Overalls and a pitchfork for that farmer look?

I always carry around a tuxedo set and my Lunar Festival suit which I bought years ago. Will soon be getting the old level 60 Warlock PvP gear, which should look pretty awesome. And hah, managed to resist saying 'First!'.
Oh, wait...

Silver-thread Robe. It's elegant, classy and looks good on nearly everyone. (I don't know about male dwarves...)

Funnily enough, when i was new to the game, the entire reason I rolled my main (a human Pally) was due to seeing another paladin standing outside SW bank in full T2... It was goodbye Nelf Rogue (gah, what was i thinking...) and hello Paladining! Sadly, by the time i hit 60 eveyone had moved on to new upgrades and BC was just around the corner, but i still harbor a secret desire to obtain full Judgement gear sometime.
During a fun run of BRD a few months ago, Ghostshroud dropped from Doom'rel. I won as vendor fodder, but upon trying the item decided it could be part of a really neat white ninja-ry kind of outfit. So i'm searching for more similar items (any ideas appreciated!) with a view of hopefully making that somewhat my equivalent to a Sunday Best!

You should find there is a low level set of cloth items perfixed "Aurora" that should fit the bill.
I have a character that compiled them once, wondering around in all white certainly makes you stand out in this game.

I can't resist the urge to keep certain peculiar articles of clothing stashed away in my bank to pull out whenever I feel like it.
I think my favorite though is my Haliscan Brimmed Hat... Don Carlos had good taste in headwear.

My main literally has one 22 slot bag FULL of hats. Nothing but hats, Dreadmist, Admiral, the area 52 rocket hat, Don Carlos's hat, tier hats, etc. Along with that i keep the visual elements of the Dreadmist set + my robe of the void and headmasters charge that i sometimes don in times of fun to remember the old days before TBC.... It has also been known for 3 little pumpkin soldiers or 3 peasants to join in in the early stages of a boss fight....
The stuff i keep in my bank is another matter altogether.

I also kept hold of my Soul Harvester as, apart from it and the Headmasters charge no other two handed has yet seemed more apropriate for my Lock... except that cool Scythe that dropped from that Fire Festival boss that i never managed to get a group for due to a lack of mount drops i guess.

For elegant my rogue wears her Robes of Insight. For fishing, blue overalls, a floppy hat and a Westfall chicken companion (Huck Finn anybody?). For mailbox dancing you can't beat the Black Mageweave set.

One thing I want introduced to the game is a chefs hat. I have the title (it the only one I really wanted) and I want a hat to go with it. Nothing would be better then a plate wearing chef in the middle of a dungeon, cooking gnome.
Spiraea Feb 8th 2009 12:27PM
Same here. I'm still hopeful that Blizz will add a chef's hat one day. Possibly mailed to whoever achieve the Chef title. Then I'll seriously go after it :p

Three words:
Moonkin. Au Naturale.

I go with my 'fishing clothes' when i'm fishing in horde territory or in a city. Too dangerous to go in neutral territory without actual gear on when you're on a PvP server! (And yes, that's a fishing pole on my back)

the tier 5 set is the only dignified mage set. it will forever be for screenshots.
my paly has full scarlet set plus tabard i keep for show. now THAT is pimp
DeathPaladin Feb 8th 2009 1:18PM
I didn't keep my Death Knight's starting armor, even if it does look great. He does carry a Scryer's Tabard, though, since he's almost done with Championing and is unable to get the Argent Dawn's.
And my paladin? For "special occasions" he still has the Bloodsplattered Loincloth of the Whale that dropped during his mail-wearing days.
Now for a little story.
It may strike you all as a little weird, but when I was levelling my Paladin I never did Tome of Valor (the Sense Undead questline). As a miner, I always had Sense Minerals up, and it was hard to find a group since at the time I was the newcomer to my guild and so everyone else was level 70. So I basically just never got around to it.
Fast forward a couple months. I am now in Outland. I return to Stormwind to train, and find the Tome of Valor quest still staring me in the face. Unlike most quests, the exclamation mark never faded out as I levelled. Finally, I said, "Enough!", grabbed the quest, then ran down to the bank, stripped off all of my armor, and donned the aforementioned Loincloth.
Now first, I must say that I was amazed how much experience I got from doing these quests. Apparently, it awarded xp comparable to my level as opposed to the level I was supposed to do it.
Second, doing the Tome of Valor questline in a loincloth and a smile is effing hilarious.
Some choice quotes:
"Good! Your lack of hesitation is a sure sign that you are prepared and eager to test yourself."
"I'm assuming by all that armor and weapon of yours, you're either here to try and take my land, or the Church finally sent someone to help protect me while my Jordan's gone. Well, let me introduce myself: I'm Daphne Stilwell. It's a pleasure."
"You were truly amazing out there. I never thought a Paladin could handle so many enemies at once."
"So, we meet again, , and you are in high spirits, I see."
Now get your mind into the gutter and imagine those being said to a big strapping Draenei wearing nothing but a loincloth.
