Blizzard at the New York Comic Convention

He also nabbed video of all the Blizzard products floating around the convention (including those figures, very cool-looking), and a long interview with Chris Metzen and Mickey Neilson, in which we hear lots of insight about what's going on in the Starcraft and Warcraft extended universes and the lore books at Blizzard, including what's going on with Sargeras' body, Garona and her mysterious background, and a really interesting hint about what might happen to the Aspect of Magic now that Malygos is dead.
And there's a nice little hint at what's next in Warcraft: Malfurion Stormrage is the next big focus of the lore books, so that might tell you a little bit about what might happen in the game's next expansion. Big thanks to Medievaldragon for covering the NYCC -- even though we weren't able to go, it was nice to have him on site there for the whole community.

Makes sense that Malfurion is popping up. With a brief look into the Emerald Nightmare in WOTLK, I can see this being the next expansion.

I hope the idea for Esmerald Dream is not Azeroth under a green light.

Would be pretty cool, though. Imagine a full Azeroth but in a dream state. That would be one huge expansion.
Though, in retrospect to what I posted, I still don't see how the Emerald Dream can be a step up above with what Arthas commands.

I dunno, I'm not sure I buy that the Emerald Dream and evils within are more profound, tougher, than what Arthas can dish out.

I dunno. The Scourge is a very tangible enemy. Nightmares are a much harder idea to fight.
Also, who thinks it was a pretty obvious hint that Kalecgos is going to be the next Aspect of Magic? Or was he looking at Arthas?
(The Arthas part was a joke.)

MD said that when he asked the question, Metzen turned looked at the cover of "Arthas" and mouthed a quick answer.
"It's in the book"

A twisted Azeroth could be interesting yes, but I think Blizzard dropped the ball with our first time in the Esmerald Dream, I was looking for it and felt dissapointed they just could put the green light and be done with it (the trick was neat for the Shadow World, but that's it).
About having a clear enemy, I bet is going to be a corrupted Malfurion, it makes sense seeing how the Nighmare can corrupt the Nature Aspects, and it would have bigger impact for fans.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing keepng my little nightmare-tainted nelfy connected is the idea that if Shan'do can fight this thing, so can she. A corrupted Mal would be bad news.
