And this is the sentiment that keeps me from playing on a PVP server. That if they are the opposite faction, it's perfectly acceptable to do anything to a person, because their wants and wishes don't mean anything.Stealing a rare spawn out from under a person. Camping someone who can't possibly fight back or get away from you until they log off. Killing them over minor little things or nothing at all. Just generally being a jerk. Sorry, PVP flag isn't a free for all excuse to treat people like dirt.

This.Yes, it was a PvP server. Yes, it's all part of the game. But, every day I hear a story that makes me thank God I decided to stick with a PvE server. And this is today's.
Yes it is. Blizzard has a hands-off approach to pvp servers. If you're being camped, bring friends to help you. If you don't have friends, you're playing the wrong game. Some of us like the danger and risk of knowing you could die at any moment. Kill or be killed. If you don't want to ever worry about risk, stay in the local capital city and never advance beyond level 1.
That's why PVP servers are always horde heavy- check www.warcraftrealms.com for proof. Sort by ratio of horde and look at most of the servers.People who roll horde can be real basement trolls sometimes. I really got a kick off of the backne on that guy who got the horde tatoo.

Wants and wishes? It's a game. The mount doesn't even give any special benefits beyond looking cool. He didn't rip off his arm and beat him with him, he mildly inconvienienced him. Surely this is the end of days.

> Sorry, PVP flag isn't a free for all excuse to treat people like dirt.Nono, that's exactly what it is. If Blizzard renamed the "PvP flag" the "Please gank me" flag, there'd be no more qq'ing about this kind of stuff.

I've done this on my PvE server, taking aggro on my Horde from an Ally's tagged rare elite mob and then kiting it until it deaggros and then picking it up for myself. If people care that much about the game, they really shouldn't be playing it.
I don't agree with this. It's what PvP servers are supposed to be. It's the thrill of getting killed at any time, whether you want it or not, for every reason (even unfair ones). The gnome had the choice to roll on a PvE server, but he didn't. He accepted the special rules of a PvP server and paid the price for it.

In a real life sense I can agree, but in regards to the game I don't. If you're 80 then you realize all hell is about to break loose between Horde and Alliance story wise (war in warcraft). Honestly I just see this as a fulfillment of the story to the game. The saying on pvp servers is Red is Dead. You either learn to live with it or you go PvE(Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging anyone for rolling PvE at all. If that's what you enjoy in the game then that's how you should play it. )If you're on a pvp server the above event is only to be expected. Maybe I'm a bit off, but most people on pvp servers seem to take a certain bit of pride hitting 80 for the sheer fact that it's hell to get there. As a matter of fact, the only way I've headed to a PvE server is that I transferred my shaman at 80 and even after the fact I feel a bit guilty. To be fair though, the only thing that annoys me on PvE servers is people gloating about how they always flag themselves... big deal, try a server where you're flagged regardless if you want to be or not. It's pretty harsh and personally I'm not sure I'd have done it (as much as I hate to say it, I got a little carebear in me).

NekoAli. To put it simply, that is such a profoundly... ignorant statement. All PvP that occurs on a PvP realm is consensual. Why is that? Because of one simple thing that all people playing on a PvP realm have done...>>>THEY ALL ROLLED ON A PVP SERVER

and it's pricks like you that make me really happy I rolled a pvp server. Have fun with your rainbows and carebears.

War, Is War.

"..PVP flag isn't a free for all excuse to treat people like dirt.."I agree 100%.It's not an excuse to treat people like dirt, and sadly that treatment often occurs. It didn't occur in this story, though. Two players of opposite factions (both level 80 I assume), one rare spawn, a fight ensues, and there can only be one victor. That's not treating people like dirt. That's PLAYER VS. PLAYER competition, which is exactly what PvP servers are supposed to foster.

That was one sweet maneuver, you gotta give him that. Damn, this makes me want to pick up on my PvP server toons again. Must... resist... getting more alts to 80...

Every time I want to complain about PvP servers, I think to myself, what would happen if we didn't have them?Yep... all of the braying, e-peen waving ADHD kiddies and their screen licking social deviant buddies would be playing on our PvE servers.I thank any deity who cares to listen daily for PvP servers.

If you play on a PvP server, you get exactly what you expect. Don't like it? Don't pick a PvP server...Personally I would hate it, but then I am a carebear ;)
