Warlock pets to get some love

Although Warlock pets have been improved somewhat, their contribution to Affliction and Destruction DPS is marginal, at best. While these demons may not be buffed to the level of Hunter pets, their contribution to DPS and utility needs a little more tweaking, and the increased HP change in Patch 3.0.8 and modest DPS increase is a start. Eyonix gives absolutely no details about what improvements are on the table, but many Warlocks have had great input on the forums. We'll have to stay tuned.

I heartily support this buff. Succubi especially, with their ability to seduce...and butts sticking out and...uh dps...
...wait, what were we talking about again?
sephirah Feb 11th 2009 9:12AM
Note that Eyonix is talking about Doomguard and Infernal.
From the thread:
OP: "Has there been any discussion regard the Doom Guard and the Inferno?..."
Eyonix: "We're looking into making further improvements (though there is no current ETA) for these pets..."

About time warlock pets get some lovin'. Being a pet class, better implementation and dps should have been dished out ages ago.
Nisaea Feb 11th 2009 9:36AM
Hey! Why no details on the artist that painted that succubus?? :-D
Plz share that info!

I am bored of these constant, contentless announcements about improvements to warlocks. Seems like there's one a day.
Stone_Rhino Feb 11th 2009 10:53AM
Actually, the last post about warlocks was 5 days ago when the patch 3.1 class changes were released.
See Masaraeth, some people really cant remember anything beyond 19 hours. Especially when they are nerd raging against warlocks like this guy.
Dotixi Feb 11th 2009 10:02AM
I think pet lovin', Warlock or otherwise, is against the law Zach...you dirty perv.
Eversor Feb 11th 2009 11:11AM
But those are demons, they should be of legal age!
Masaraeth Feb 11th 2009 10:08AM
"remember the Hunter no more ammo fiasco?"
Oh, no, my memory doesnt extend beyond 19 hours... good job you reminded me!

After having used my Doomguard for boss fights and not for pranks for the first time ever last weekend this news is quite fun.
i won't dare go raiding without those Figurines anymore. Not that i ever went anywhere without either of the big demon reagents before but nowadays i actually use them.
Just wish my infernal/doomguard got a name.
sephirah Feb 11th 2009 11:16AM
Yes, I don't think the DG need to be buffed, simply have it's cooldown significatively shortened.
Keyra Feb 11th 2009 11:10AM
You know...
That picture should almost be labeled "NSFW"!
Almost.
Heh...damn, I may need to roll a warlock after I get my main up a few more levels!

"Although Warlock pets have been improved somewhat, their contribution to Affliction and Destruction DPS is marginal, at best. "
LOL....I pulled 5.8k DPS on Patchwork last night and 1k of that DPS was from my Doomguard which with its 50kHP raid buffed and lasting 15 minutes is completely OP.

Doomguard: 1k DPS
Felguard: 800 dps
Imp: 340 DPS
Untalented Hunter pet: 1200 DPS
BM specced hunter pet: 2000+ DPS
Good to see that its the simple things that please warlocks these days, rather than wanting it to be as viable in comparison to other classes.

Doomguard doesn't count. I probably should've clarified that. OF COURSE you use Doomguard on Patchwerk. And then what?
In the odd chance that you wipe, what then?
Destrozo Feb 11th 2009 2:27PM
"In the odd chance that you wipe, what then?"
Wipe on patchwork....LOL
I got a good laugh from this comment.
