Dyluck asked...
"I was wondering, do the EULA and TOS really change each patch?"
It doesn't. The last change to the End User License Agreement (EULA) and the Terms of Use Agreement (TOS/TOU) happened back on July 29, 2008. Grelk mentioned in reply to your question that Blizzard has released a new product, essentially, and that they need you to accept all that stuff for the new version – which makes sense.
We'll have to take a look the next time a change in the agreements comes around, probably after a major (3.1, 3.2, etc...) patch or closer to the next expansion.
Chris asked...
"Is there any way to reorder your list of characters on any given realm?"
Nope. And I wish there was too. I just picked up an iPod touch today and I'm having fun playing with various apps. Lots of dragging and dropping, something that Apple has been all about for 15+ years now. Too bad WoW doesn't emulate this.
Delshay asked...
"What are the best money making dailies for level 80s to do? They don't seem to pay out as well as the Isle of Quel'Danans dailies and the others we had at level 70."
There are two ways to look at doing daily quests. Which are the quickiest, and which reward the most money? I've found that the proper balance occurs in the daily quests out in Sholazar Basin with the Oracles.
I can knock off 3 of those in about 30 minutes, which is quite fast and get around 50 gold in the process. Some people are having a lot of luck out with the Sons of Hodir daily quests, and they get so quick at them it only takes about an hour to do them all – netting around 100g or so.
The important thing to remember is that each server is going to be different. Some will be more populated at certain times of the day than others. Test around a bit and try to figure out what works where you play. Don't be afraid to experiment! Once you find a quiet time to daily work, you'll be making money very very quickly.
Sae asked...
"Any word regarding when/if/how our gold ol' Riding Crops will be making a return?"
None, and I wouldn't expect any either. Plans for the riding crop seem to have fallen by the wayside. I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of inscription that ups riding speed, or some sort of potion/flask, but that's really all I see in the future. By all accounts Blizzard really wants to get away from "must have" craftable items and the like, and this is just part of that.
Finally...
Let's go off-WoW for a minute and talk about an offhand comment I made yesterday about EVE Online's crafting system.
EVE Online is a space based MMORPG. It's a huge game, all on one server with about 250,000 to 300,000 subscribers. There are anywhere from 25,000 to 50,000 connected at any one time. The game takes place in a gigantic universe, where you explore, mine for goods, wage epic battles, and fight against the evils of the galaxy. The learning curve is horrendous. While I think to really understand and be successful at WoW theory crafting you need a grasp of basic calculus, in EVE it is doubly so. It's not a game for kids or people who's interests change every day. It is a serious, hard core, real consequences game. Make one mistake and you'll find yourself set back months or years of gameplay. And I'm not kidding either.
Nearly everything in the EVE universe is crafted by players. You learn things to make by gaining patterns, or blueprints, and then farm the materials needed to make the item. Rinse and repeat a few million times and you've got yourself a shiny new starship. The difference between WoW's and EVE's profession system lies in how the crafting systems actually work. It might take a few days to farm up mats a new shield you want made, and then it's just a matter of clicking one button. In EVE (and to be honest, in EQ2 as well), crafting anything beyond the most basic item requires tons of planning and farming. We're talking weeks and months here, not days.
Many players who become familiar with different MMOs point to EVE and EQ2 as prime examples of what a fun and challenging crafting system can be like. It would be amazing to see some sort of advanced crafting system come to WoW, but chances are slim since the mindset of EVE (hard core is great, buh-bye noobs) and the mindset of WoW (we have room for everyone) is pretty different.
Oh, and by the way, I was not part of Band of Brothers, I was just being silly and referencing their destruction. Massively had some excellent coverage of it if you're interested in learning more.
Tomorrow I'll be doing a special edition of The Queue, tackling a single question left by a U.S. Marine in Iraq, asking how the game has changed in the year he's been deployed. Should be a good one.

"'Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee. Sink all coffins and hearses to one common pool! and since neither can be mine, let me then tow to pieces, while still chasing thee, though tied to thee, thou damned whale! Thus, I give up the spear!'"

When I first read Moby Dick in like 1995 I was like, that sounds familiar...

When I'm farming the hodir dailys it takes me on average 17 minutes after accepting all the quests to do all the quests in succession. People taking a lot longer should consider a different order of operations.

Here's a question for the Queue:
I've been playing a Death Knight since 3.0.8, and I love the flavor and the way the class plays. It's a lot of fun. But I'm having trouble settling on a talent spec. So far I love Unholy for the flavor, but it's a little too AoE-heavy for me. I think I can overcome that with some careful talent choices, though. The other thing that slightly throws me about Unholy is having to manage the Ghoul. Frost really only interests me from a tanking perspective, which I've yet to try. I'm currently Blood for DPS, and it's good, just... kind of boring. My question is, then: Would it be possible to create a less AoE-heavy Unholy spec that also avoids the perma-ghoul pet without completely nerfing your DPS into the ground?

Question about addons:
I'm looking for something lightweight that'll flash a middle of the screen notice or turn my Grid a different color when I'm at certain %s of mana. Sometimes I get so focused on two dozen itty bitty green bars that I forget to look at my own blue one til I'm not able to cast. I don't need something as intense as TimetoOOM, just something that''ll let me know when I'm at 30%, and 5%, so I can pop Innervate/a pot or mess with the 5sr.

I do wish they would do something to the crafting system a bit. I think what's tedious for me is how repetitive it gets when trying to skill up, so that rather than being rewarded for taking the time to gather materials to make one cool thing, you end up making 150 of some uncomplicated thing to skill up.
I would prefer if there was a split where you could choose to level either by churning out simple items as a mass market retailer, or by specializing as an "artisan" and making difficult items that would take longer to gather materials and create but grant a lot more skill just from making one of them.
I would like it if crafters were more encouraged to make the variety of items that were put in the game, rather than having to wait until they were at max skill to go back and focus on making some of the more interesting things.

It would be nice if they made a couple of "epic crafting" classes/professions as hero classes/professions.

"Any word regarding when/if/how our gold ol' Riding Crops will be making a return?"
I'd be happy if Blizzard would introduce a set 3 glyph slots, of which can only work with generic glyphs. Then Blizzard can introduce generic glyphs such as "Quick Speed" glyph and "Disco" dance glyph.
I can't imagine returning the Riding Crop benefits in the form of a gem, enchant, rune, or some other enhancement. A generic glyph, though, might be a decent way to go.

The next article sounds neat!
I guess this is a question for the Queue after that one, then:
"With Exorcism being able to affect all target in 3.1, how likely is it that the Glyph of Exorcism will translate into a ranged, instant cast pvp silence for Paladins? With Protection getting silences in the form of Shield of Righteousness and Avenger's Shield, I'm giddy with the lock down potential tanks will be able to bring to the table."

With the new dailies I basically threw up my hands because they time/money ratio is terrible. So to make money I just farm low level instances like stratholme or shattered halls, auctioning cloth etc, and disenchanting all greens to sell the mats. The main benefits are (a) no competition, (b) unlimited supply, (c) you can work just about as fast as you want. I don't know exactly how much I make per hour doing this (due to the auction house coming into play afterwards), but I make around 100g/hr just from looting money & selling grays/bop items.

Are there any titles I can achieve with my level 1 bank alt? She has an outfit from the Brewfest and usually participates in any of the holiday she can, but all the titles seem to require some leveling. Is there any title she could get without leveling?
Warren Feb 14th 2009 9:22AM
i was thinking about this. if you get 4 friends to escort you. you can get lead around to get the explore title. you will lvl just from the xp of finding stuff. so you will not be lvl 1 when you get done.
hagu Feb 14th 2009 7:36PM
To follow up on @Warren, one friend with a Traveler's Mammoth or chopper/hog could ride you around for the explorer title.
