not to show my nerdiness, but for the sith apprentice to become the master its true that they must kill their master, or the master must die. This was set up by Darth Bane when he made the rule of two. but the master didnt just challenge their apprentice. it usually involved the apprentice assassinating the master or the apprentice challenging the master about a task that they felt was against their cause. so the master wouldnt be the one to challenge, and if they were theyd probably have the apprentice simply killed by some other faction that was loyal to the sith master. other than that good movie
