eHarmony advertises in Warsong Gulch

Quinionn on Magtheridon sent us this picture -- apparently dating website eHarmony has gotten in on the in-game advertising just in time for Valentine's Day. He had just joined a Warsong Gulch when this guy showed up spamming an ad.
There's a number of strange things going on here -- as far as we know, this isn't an official Blizzard move, but most of the people spamming ads in the game are shady gold-selling websites, not real corporations with bigger profiles. And the weirdest thing might be this: Eharmony on Arthas isn't a one-time character created to spam in Trade -- he's level 80 with 450 Jewelcrafting and Mining. There's actually a lot of characters with the same name around, with different levels and classes, even in different guilds (though this one is probably the funniest).
Very weird. At the very least, the spammer's aiming to lose his character, and at worst, if this is an organized action, Blizzard might actually have a case against eHarmony for spamming inside the game. Have you seen any other ads like this around the game?
Update: Mystery seems to be solved: it was just some guy messing around. Strange way to mess around, though. He's in our comments, and says he's getting a free name change after the GMs said what he was doing was not so cool.

Enjoy your 5 min of fame.
Imagine one man...with a lot of time to build chars on different realms, sell himself to EHarmony...changed all the names of his chars to EHarmony.....and started spammin the stuff....that guy is rich.

I once saw one in-game advertisement spam from Staples.
I hope Blizz gets on them, although maybe the people didn't know it was against the rules after seeing all the gold seller ads running amok. Although, I highly doubt it.
Sick em' Blizz!

Hey, so.
I am actually Eharmony on Arthas, you can go ahead and whisper me on Arthas, and I can confirm I wrote this post.
I do NOT work for Eharmony, or have ever been a member of Eharmony.
I just found out that my name and this joke is against the rules, so I am going to have to petition a GM for a free name change.
This was a joke. I spam it on trade chat every now and then.
But wow, holy crap... I've never been e-famous before :O

Okay, LAST post.
I was allowed to get a free name change, because my advertising and name were against the rules, and I could of possibly taken legal action >.>
But anyways, lol this is so funny!

This is probably the work of some small time viral marketing genius from some hip ad agency. It just shows how the current economic crisis is causing companies to try anything to drum up business. I can see the pitch now "Our target lonely demo is gonna be playing this WoW thing over Valentine's Day! I smell an opportunity, don't you?"

What's amazing about this story is how so many of you, WoWInsider staff included, are willing to believe anything bad about eHarmony, no matter how absurd. Preconceived notions, perhaps? I've never used the site, and don't plan to, but it's not about them so much as about people like you: You're probably more than willing to believe whatever crap you hear, no matter how ridiculous, so long as you have something against the target of the smears - maybe someone who *dares* have a different view of the world than you, or perhaps any "big scary eeevil corporation." And people wonder why you can't have an intelligent debate nowadays.

...are you high?
Tuhljin Feb 14th 2009 4:36PM
Are you? Or are you just the typical incredibly gullible, corporations-are-evil, morality-is-subjective type? You've gotta be pretty foolish to believe this was truly a case of eHarmony-sponsored spam.

Eharmony rejected my application...apparently I wasn't worth loving. :(
