Scribes are going to be given a new recipe to create a consumable that starts a ritual to summon a lexicon of power to your location. The item can be sold on the AH and used by anyone. The fact that it will be a ritual means that you'll need someone (the exact number hasn't been confirmed) to help you summon it.

As far as the QQ about hybrids being taken over pure DPS classes, it's ridiculous. In any given raid, it's unlikely that you will need more than a few people (one or two for 10mans, maybe four or five in a 25man) to have a dual spec. There is no need to have every dps slot filled with hybrids, just like there is no need to have every dps slot filled with pure classes. A balance is key; there will always be spots for pure classes.
