This encounter can really suck even with some of the most skilled players.

RNG plays a very big factor. The relationship between what side a lava wall spawns on and when a Drake descends upon the raid can determine a wipe or win.

There have been multiple time in which everything is going smoothly, then along comes an "East" call (the side in which there is only one hole for the raid to run to) - "Oh snap here comes [insert drakes name here]....and pwnt. Raid wipe.

And Im referring to Sartharion with 3 Drakes up. Sorry if there was any confusion...

Yea, it's hard to get her down with 3d. And when I was put to tank the huge load of adds there, I was confused. Other encounter that's rather confusing on the first try is the mob mass attack "boss" in HoS. I felt my brains exploding on the first time.
