Breakfast Topic: Who do you adore?
So as Love is in the Air winds down, hopefully those of us who care have managed to get another title and/or all the candy, dresses, and perma-peddles we could wish for. Some of us, though, I still going through that hourly ritual of finding someone to love. For me, when it's time to hand out the cards, I head over to Stormwind. Once there, I either look for Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth or Elsharin, the High Elf Mage trainer. I like to think that I have a special relationship with both girls. Jes-tereth was always there by my side when I spent those long hours queueing for PvP, and among my group of friends, we always agreed she was one of the hottest women in all of WoW. Maybe I just like a girl in uniform. As for Elsharin, I'm a pretty big High Elf fan, so seeing that there's still High Elves loyal to the Alliance is nice, plus she's always there to greet me whenever I teleport to Stormwind, so I think I owe her something in return.
What about you? Do you just shove a token into the hands of the first NPC who thinks you smell nice, or do you have your own go-to people for your adoration needs?

In the Undercity, there's a leper gnome by the name of Ganoosh who I've been developing a very meaningful relationship with.

Men, Women and Abominations . Whoever will love me, I'll love back.

I must admit, the High Elf mage trainer at the tower in SW is the one I go to for respeccing. Er, too bad she only wants me for my gold. Meh.

I had three i switch between. As a draenei my home doesnt take part in the azerothian ritual. But my home away from home is Iron forge. This city is swarming with male dwarfs who a swamped with love tokens. I found 3 poor girls in the city with pitiful piles. Though I guess i should have been more faithful because it took 80 boxes before one of them splurged on me and gave me my very cute paddle feet.

I wish that was the case for me - if they weren't soulbound I'd be giving them away! I have bags of candy coming out of my ears, but not Perma Peddle yet :-(

Whoa sorry, that was a response to another comment - must have clicked too soon!

You know who I DON'T adore? The drop rate on Bags of Candy.
No achievement, no sleep, sadly. I don't want to go into the details of how many god forsaken Pledges of Adoration I've gotten already.

Agree. I'm running out of hours, and I'm still missing four candies.
Andostre Feb 15th 2009 10:14AM
Seconded. This world event stopped being fun a long time ago. It's very disheartening. I got my second bag of candy two days ago, but my wife is still trying to get hers. What sucks about it is that it's no longer something we can do together. She heads back to SW every hour, and I go AFK until she gets back. That's some great grouping there, let me tell you.
Plus, she's sick of turning down doing things that might take longer than an hour to do because she wants to maximize her chances of getting a second bag of candy (and even getting a bag is no guarantee that she'll get the last two candies she needs). I can tell that when/if she does get the title, it won't be enjoyable. There's too much bitterness about the whole issue. I think that when/if she finally does get it, we'll probably log off WoW for a few days.

@ Andostre - same here. This event, with its constant relogging every hour has actually put me off WoW. Not 'canceling my account' off WoW, but enough so that this weekend when I have had spare time I'll go read a book or something instead.
And I still haven't had a bag on candies drop.....

/agree I've been thinking about starting a "boycott WoW holidays" movement cause of this stupid thing.

I go to Bounty Hunter Kolark in Orgrimmar. He gave me a lovely black dress on the third date, er... time I gave him the thingy.

Not a QQ because while it's annoying, I know there's nothing I can do about it BUT...
after over 40 pledges and only 1 bag of candy drop (6 different ones out of that) I'm not sure I can see how it can be said that the meta-achievements should only be for those who put in the effort - I've done at least 40 hours over this weekend, and as Oceanic servers finish the event in a few hrs there's no way I'll be getting it.
I don't mind losing loot rolls - at least for the most part the other person has earned the win, this is too random for my liking!
Thyago Feb 15th 2009 8:57AM
What?! Elsharin wouldnt do that to me :((((
I deserve my new title...

The Bread Vendor in Thunder Bluff. She's been buying my greys for so long, when it came time to go profess my love, I thought of no-one else.

My dwarf has a certain thing going on with Renato Gallina. He'll never forget the priceless night he spent in the Stormwind Trade District all those years ago, just him, Renato, and a sweet complimentary bottle of Pinot Noir.

For the last couple years, I've always singled out a pirate woman in the UC rogue quarter. This year, she's either gone or moved! My heart is broken!
sara Feb 15th 2009 11:17AM
Bimble whatsherface the fruit vendor in the mystics ward of IF - she's given me three bags of candy. Of course, I still don't have the last candy, and after working my butt off to get the other seasonal achievements I'm seeing the proto drake slip through my fingers. Bitter much? Nah.

Falika in Orgrimmar. I have a thing for orc females, hence why any class I play that can be a female orc -is- a female orc.
