For better or worse, the Love is in the Air festival is over. Though there was much wringing of hands over the drop rate of the Bags of Candies, the location of Red Roses and enforced hour downtime between Pledge looting, many players managed to procure the title "Love Fool." Others are busily scribbling hate mail to Blizzard about how they are never going to get their Violet proto-drake because of this. (Pro tip: We're not Blizzard so please don't send it to us. Really. No, really.)I managed to snag my title early Sunday evening after finally getting my last candy heart and then shamelessly /shouting in front of the Ironforge Auction House to mend broken hearts. This is the first festival I've achieved a title though I can't tell you why I chose this one. Probably because there was no PvP involved. Which will take me out of the running for the Children's Week achievement that involves no less than 2 PvP activities.
Enough about me. Did you get what you wanted out this event?

I had to stay up late for my last candy bag, and finally finished that gay achievement! I had been trying to get candy bags for the entire event and only got 2 and had one last candy to get. Luckily when i got my final candy bag the first candy that popped out was the one I needed.
I feel really bad for the people who weren't able to complete the "Be Mine!" achievement. It was really a horrible achievement and I will always remember the Love is in the Air festival as the absolute worst holiday event blizz has ever done.

I don't know why you guys keep complaining about getting X amount of dresses/baskets/whatever.
Be "lucky" it actually dropped for you. There are others out there who've tried in vain, to no avail.
Luckily I got the basket from last year's event but this year, nothing dropped... well maybe 2 bags of candy, love rockets & that love fool dummy thing but that's about it.
So please SHUT UP about not getting the one last thing to get your stupid title, coz at least you got it. Geezz. Be thankful, at least.
Stupid fkn event, I was so looking forward to it... stupid RNG. -_-

Hours... and hours... and hours of getting gifts, and still two candies short. Just on my main, I got the pet, two dresses, three or four picnic baskets, and only TWO bags of candy.
Screw you, Blizzard. (Just throwing it out there, not directing it at Wow Insider.)

I was lucky and got my candy from one bag. I can see how people are pissed about how hard it was to get.
My question is why does everyone cry about the pvp part of some of the achievements. No one ever said they were pve only. Just go to a battle ground and do what you need to then get out. It's not the end of the world of warcraft.

Ugh... I got mostly what I wanted except for the Pet. But I got 5 Dresses... on My Main Char whos Male. Enought dresses dropped that my 3 Female Chars and all my GFs 10 chars (which includes 1 Male) got dresses and I still got 2 left over. Took 4 Bags of Candy, I was sweating over it as it was nearing the end, But sighed relief once Hot Lips came out of the bag. A guildie did in 1 Bag. Lucky. Can't complain too much, Got the title, one step closer to Violet Proto Drake.

Just wanted to let you guys know that the Bag of Candies debacle just got uglier. People were posting all week about the problems with the Bags of Candy. All of a sudden, almost all the posts were deleted. We are talking about over 20-30 posts, all full of 26 pages each. Here's some WoW forum posts to enlighten you guys:

It's amusing to read through and see the comments by one of the devs claiming that since it's a violation, it's deleted. Really? So that effort to delete the threads could easily have been used to move it.
It's really rather petty that the devs can use that as an excuse as to not answer the hundreds or even thousands of people who did go to the forums to post.
"Oh, you posted in the wrong forum even though your expressing valid concerns. Not gonna read it, just delete it as it's in the wrong spot. Thanks, don't come again."

Noooooooooooo. I did't do it. I', ,issing two tokens of Be mine! DAMN. I coud play only at weekend so i didn't have enought time :/ screw it, i was trying to loot candy bag even in 5:15am before i went to school (event end was at 6:00am). I hate this event. damn

I got everything I wanted, thankfully. Got all the title achievements done on day one (albeit at 1:30 in the morning lol), but it took me until Sunday evening to get the damn minipet. I got 6 or 7 of the picnic baskets, 8 dresses, and countless rockets, love fools, chocolates, and silver shafted arrows. I was starting to worry I wouldn't get the minipet, but I finally got it around 9 pm. A guildmate of mine got his on the very last time he was going to try, around 1:30 or so at night, lol. That damn lucky Canadian. XD

I played casually on Wednesday and Thursday. By casually, I mean I perhaps got 6 gifts of adoration during those days. On Friday, I stepped it up. I either set up a sleeping schedule with my boyfriend, or we set the alarm every hour. We got all 24 gifts that are available during Saturday and Sunday. We did not sleep over three nights. On Monday, after the event ended at 6am, I went and continued talking to NPCs until nearly 4pm server time. Yes, I got several extra shots at the achievement.
What did I come out with?
- 2 Peddlefeet pets (yes, two, sigh)
- 7 lovely black dresses
- 8 picnic baskets
- 5 bags of candy
In my first bag, I got 6 of 8 candies. In my second, I got up to 7 of 8 candies. All I needed was Hot Lips. The next 3 bags did not have Hot Lips. I finished without the Be Mine Achievement. Of course, I'm sorely dissapointed. While I understand RNG, and that "random is random," I play the game to have fun and be rewarded. Needless to say, I did not have fun and I most definitely do not feel rewarded.
Again, I understand that Blizz does not have to hand me achievements, nor do I need to participate in them. But let's be honest, a lot of us do participate and dedicate ourselves completely to them.

I didn't get the pet. Which is the 1 friggin thing i wanted besides the title. I would of GLADLY traded my title for the pet honestly. Got about 8 Dresses about 7 Picnic Baskets and god knows how many bags of candy i deleted. The first day i got everything done including the bag of candies. Got all the candies i needed out of my first bag. I know hate me now. But i really wanted the pet.

Well... I signed in every day during the event... and averaged 13 tries a day an only got one bag of candies and did not get them all... so yeah... im pissed.

Seriously. LAST hour of the event, I get a candy bag. (5:20 am) It finally gives me the ONE candy that I need to get my title and completion for this part of the meta achievement.
LAST freaking hour of the day... and you know there are still people in my guild who need one candy only and are screwed out of the mount because of this kind of crap.
-_- It is a sad day when they think earning an achievement based on double random luck is a fair thing.

This one...was a weird one. I really don't know why this set of dates was selected. It's NOT Valentine's Day, it's Ridiculouly Contrived Holiday Alterna-Name, so there's no reason it couldn't have been shifted to start on Sunday, or Wednesday a week later. Particularly because it *overlapped* with another holiday! That's just silly.
I was really stressed the first day, until I figured out the guards vs. citizens thing and that the gift collection turn-in gave you *choice* in the drop items. Motored along relaxed for two days, got my perma-peddle on the second gift and a collection of dresses. Then I panicked upon realizing that the candy bags were only RNG and I hadn't seen any yet. Even with concered effort (and believe me, we are dedicated "trick or treaters" in this household after Hallows End), I only ever got two bags of candy; thankfully those were enough. The second only came at 2am Sunday night, collected by my lovely GF after I'd gone to sleep!
On the other hand, I did enjoy interacting with others during this event. Listening for a /cry to locate hearts in need of mending, pitying the fool, and flirting with guards of every sex were all entertaining to me. I also got kissed by a HUMAN (/shudder) late Sunday night when I logged my troll rogue into Dalaran briefly. I think I made his life.
So, a draw in the end? Emotional rollercoaster, but some fond memories. That human though...would rather kiss Jeremiah Payson any day of the week.
