Around Azeroth: Made of meat
For the latest entry in our series of the ongoing interior decorating atrocities of Azeroth, we have this painting from A Heroes' Welcome in Dalaran. At first glance, it looks like a simple picture of tuskarr whalers in action. However, as submitter Ulftar of <Spartan Forces> on Azuremyst pointed out, that's no ordinary whale. It is made ... entirely out of meat. Look at the cross-section! It has no internal organs, other than the ones that are hung up on the line. It is basically made of t-bone steaks. Gross.
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, double-mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran.Filed under: Screenshots, Around Azeroth, Galleries

Awww man! I saw that painting in another Inn the yesterday (conept art is hung on the walls of various Dalaran buildings, if you didn't already know) and I actually thought about taking a screenshot and sending it in here, but then I thought "Naw, that'd be a dull picture, there's no way they would use it."
That's both disappointing and very strange.

Mmm... nothing like whale on the barbie.

But the truth is, that animals in wow are hollow. Very once in a while you will find a claw or a tooth, but rarely do you find meat.
SaintStryfe Feb 17th 2009 10:05AM
If there was such a thing as an animal made entirely of T-Bone steaks.... MMmmmmm.

Gross? GROSS? Hell no, man; that's AWESOME. Where can I get meatfish? We need to transplant these things to every major body of water in the WORLD.
Ject Feb 17th 2009 10:18AM
I damn near spit out my drink when I read it was made of T-Bone Steaks lol.

"Happy Dog loves to play fetch with a young boy named Timmy! Timmy is Happy Dog's best friend. Timmy is made out of meat. Your whole family is made out of meat."
What's up?

Gross? T-bone steak >>> a bowl of whale guts. ;P

Arguably one of my favourite lines of all time:
"They talk by flapping their meat at each other."
Ashvoyager Feb 17th 2009 10:57AM
Wait... Are you trying to say that we're not supposed to be entirely made out of meat? Perhaps I should seek medical attention.

It looks more like a ribeye than a t-bone cut to me. Still, pass me another 50lb hunk of steakfish!
eric_barbaric Feb 17th 2009 2:57PM
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed that. It would definately be a rib eye steak, not a t-bone.

What made this even more priceless was the linked advertisement for the "Sponsored Links" right beneath this article's entry:
I cut out 47 lbs of body fat /w this 1 easy diet I saw on Rachael Ray.
Okay, maybe I just need more caffeine :-)

From the first time I saw this pic, it reminded me of an artist I'd seen previously, named Mark Ryden. The style is very similar. Check out this pic:

Ryden's work is surreal, twisted, and has lots of meat-related themes. I doubt they got him to do a "painting" for WoW, but I wouldn't be surprised if the inspiration was there.
