"So this is how it's going to be, then.
Every time Blizzard comes to an impasse where they cannot manage to tune the boss to the players' abilities, or simply don't want to bother doing so, they'll toss in Vehicle Mode."
Really? I love how much people complain that Blizzard is trying something new that hasn't been done before. As for Blizzard being lazy - that's straight up BS. They are adding an entirely new mechanic to the game which is by no means, easier than designing encounters around traditional class mechanics.
And let's be realistic here - at most we are talking a single piece of this (or any) raid, which roughly translates into 1% of the time on your toon in a vehicle. By your reckoning, you should be able to do everything your toon does normally while mounted -- remember - you leveld up your character to play your character, not to parade around not able to use your abilities.
The principle is the same - cut Blue some slack - they are trying something brand new and the only way to get better at it is to continue to work it in. And in all honesty, they are far from terribly encounters to begin with ....

the biggest problem i have with vehicle mode is that it throws gear, and stats out the window. Once you in a vehicle, you could have a naked char, or a full t7.5 geared char, and your abilities are identical. Its kind of a cool idea, and its good that blizzard is trying something new, but its fundamentally flawed IMO.

I wouldn't say fundamentally flawed--in need a tuning yes, but I wouldn't say fundamentally.
I would say very much in tuning phase of things to make it a great mechanic. I'm really just annoyed that people make such sweeping claims about Blizzard being lazy/dumb for instituting a different style of game play that in the grand scheme of things, effects a markedly small amount of game time.
I work in software - it's pretty common knowledge that the first release of new functionality is always not the best.

What exactly is flawed about creating a few encounters where no one can claim "waa it's my gear/class" and are forced to just have skill?
Gearing is easy. A retarded monkey could be geared in BiS items, and depending on how facerolly their rotation is, they might perform really well on target dummies like Patchwerk.
