Arawn from
Crusader Aura sent in some excellent screenshots straight from the 3.1 PTR. And being the helpful netizens we are, we're passing them straight on to you. Check out the in-game
Equipment Manager, which is simple, but functional; changes to the
LFG tool;
WoW's new
colorblind mode; and the new ability to
join battlegrounds from anywhere. Check the screenshots themselves for additional comments on these features' functionality.

Actually, it makes perfect sense what you said earlier. Just like in real life, you can store your money in a bank in one city, and be able to take out money at a different bank in another city. But you can't take out the money in the middle of no where that doesn't have a bank (or ATM).

It probably works like Outfitter - if you switch to a different set and you don't have it all with you, you won't switch. If you only have, for example, a helmet and boots on that other set with you, you just switch those and remain in your old set for the rest.

BG queuing from anywhere? Thank you, Warhammer Online. I was wondering when WOW was going to adopt it. I may even start PVPing more now that I don't have to stand around in a city.

couldnt agree with you more. one thing i love warhammer for is the accessibility to pvp wherever you are.

As far as the equipment manager,
You can have up to 10 sets saved?
Also, does it take the items out of your bag and save it in the panel?
As a Druid I have multiple sets. Balance, Feral Tank, Resto, and PvP.

It would be WONDERFUL if it did, but I somehow doubt it.
For RPers, it's sad there are only 10 outfits. I'll probably have to continue using Outfitter, since I have over 30 different sets.
sheepe Feb 24th 2009 4:55PM
I doubt it would do that, otherwise you could pretty much trivialise bag/bank space using gear sets.
Anyone know if theres a keybind option for gearsets? If so it does everything i need and theres one less addon eating my memory :).

Kinda humorous that they want you to fill in all this info for LFG, but if you're looking for an instance that's "beneath" you then all that info will be a lie since lying about where you want to go would be the only way to get channel 4 up.

I'm pretty excited about the equipment manager. Assuming this is accessible from the API, we'll finally be able to make a nearly full proof weapon swap macro - provided you keep your gear sets updated.
zappo Feb 24th 2009 3:53PM
haha... foolproof... irony..
Darkwind Feb 24th 2009 4:05PM
Are there any indications that the Equipment Manager will accept keybindings for changing out each set?
New options in the key mapping interface perhaps?
BulletzBill Feb 24th 2009 4:26PM
Well it looks like its alot like the macro interface, which means you can probably drag the icon for each set to an action bar. From their you could keybind the bar button to whatever you wanted.
Just a guess.

Colorblind mode!!! I LIKE!!!
I am constantly having to ask guildies whether an item I have is rare or epic, or otherwise (I'm blue/green and a little purple colorblind). Now it's just a tooltip away. Killer!!!

Do you still need the items in your bags to change item sets or will it take stuff out of your bank too?
Would be really nice to have empty bags for once. When you think about it, the hybrids have 3 main specs plus variations within those. Maybe a special set with extra resists or tanking sets with variations of dodge and stamina. There's some overlap between the sets but still lots of extra items you have to carry around.
Ichthus Feb 24th 2009 8:34PM
You still need to have the items on you. It just takes the annoyance out of swapping sets.
Looava Feb 24th 2009 11:17PM
For the EM, where is the storage system, or a closet for all the armor??? I want a ring that can hold my outfit like the Flash! or whatever superhero that was. Having two or three set of armor in our bags is going to crazy. Raiding nights with two or three set is already crazy.

as a red/green color blind individual i've just got to say... ze goggles ze do nutzing!
Hark! Feb 25th 2009 7:43AM
Awesome new stuff. I'm looking forward to the new LFG system, but I can't help but wonder how it'll affect hunters with pets that can tank. Does anyone know if the "tank" box is greyed out for them?

Hmm, reading the updated patch notes a couple of days ago it said that the equipment manager was not full ready and will not be included in 3.1
