I fail to see how this chages will reduce the excessive number of mandatory talents in the Affliction tree. As GC stated this was one of the obtectives in 3.1.Prior to this changes we spent 1 talent point in Erradication and 3 on Pandemic. With this chages we will spend 3 talent points in Erradication and 1 on Pandemic. If my math does not fail (3+1) - (3+1) grants an outcome of 0 new talent points to spend elsewhere. Also Zach, why would you take out the 3 points in malediction? a 3% spell damage buff is still a 3% spell damage buff. At least in PVE this counts. The only change I really welcome (as an Aff lock) is the unified hit talent. But we still have non-unified threat reduction and increased range talents, and few spare talent points to invest in them. Threat is what i'm more worried about as soulshatter is not enough to keep me below my tanks.

Not a fan of Eradication giving a vanilla increase in SP. It's just boring. =( But you're right on the talent point math.

Actually thanks to the new supression (and leaving out hahahahamplify curse) i've managed to get some threat reducing talents with the new tree and even the range increasing talents:http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warlock=550000050100000000000000002350222000123510053500331151000000000000000000000000000&glyph=000000000000&version=9614let's see how this plays out on the PTR (for those who have access to it)
