A real-life tabard for the Keepers of Stromgarde

This is very cool -- Jellis of Keepers of Stromgarde on the Venture Company server (the guild is an RP-PVP guild that has taken root in Stromgarde and claimed it as their own) put together this real-life version of their tabard, and it looks great. It's a little different from the "official" Stromgarde tabard, but I think this is probably the best they could do with the guild interface. She's even offered to make copies for everyone in the guild (we're told there's 75 members), which is pretty darn incredible. Plus, if you're willing to wear a tabard around in public, clearly you're dedicated to your guild.
This reminded me of the Scarlet Crusade t-shirt we saw made a while back -- you can check that one out in the gallery below. I'll admit it: I'm jealous. Maybe my guild needs to recruit some crafty people so we can start getting some cool real-life stuff of our own, too.

Nice tabard. That eagles looks like the one on the Polish flag. It even has the same red background.

I'll confess I was about to take on a snarfy "rp lol" perspective and then I actually cruised the web site. I have to admit I have respect for folks who endeavor to pursue their flavor of game with a great deal of energy behind it, and based upon their guild website, this group likely fits the bill.
I found this part very entertaining
"1 - All blood elves are kill on sight."
There were other pvp rules--from my initial reading I found myself looking at it from a regular pvp server perspective "harhar ganking lowbies" but then looking at the activities listing it appears they have regular pvp get togethers with horde guilds for rp-pvp.
Cool stuff.
Some questions--does this mean anyone questing in Stromgarde is killed?
Nice crafty stuffs too, btw.

There's been a few bad apple moments where lowbies have been killed while questing through Stromgarde, but on a whole most Keepers don't kill lowbies, or people questing. They has the class.

As a member of the Blacktooth Grin on Venture Co., I salute our enemies dedication.

As another member of on Venture Co, I thoroughly love every member of Keepers of Stromgarde and enjoy their presence on our server. The fights that are a result of some of our on-going storylines between them have been amazing.
VeCo is for fite! indeed.

I don't think I'd ever wear a guild tabard IRL, but I would frame it and hang it by the comp.

Hey, I've had epic duels with members of the Keepers a couple of times now. Cool that they're so creative.
VeCo is for fite!

Gules, border plain argent. An eagle with two heads armed, Argent.
And for those who commented about the two-headed eagle, incredibly common in heraldry :)

All I remember about the keepers on venture co was how they continually griefed any Horde they came across. Spawn camping my Blood Elf Mage while I was levelling. I recall them being Kill on Sight for most of the guilds horde side.
Although I may just not appreciate the it because I want involved in the self-proclaimed "amazing" RP storylines from the stuck-up Suncrowns, or the eletist Grin.

VCo is for MF'in fite!

I know Jellis outside of WoW and she really is an incredible seamstress - Tailoring 450, Cooking 450 FTFW - she's the reason I made an alt on VeCo
VeCo is for fite!

Memeber of Grunts from VeCo, and I can remember fodly times when I have been camped by Keepers while questing. I also remember raiding Stromguarde and camping a few of their members in retribution, fun times.
PvP aside, there's alot of very nice, crafty people in Keepers and I salute their guild dedication in making a RL tabard.
Veco is 4 fite!

I don't RP, and I'm not sure I ever could, but that's a sweet tabard. Props to Jellis for the design and props (or perhaps sympathy) to the members who wear theirs out on the town.
I don't really feel like I know enough about RP, so I took some time to peruse The Keepers website. Man, that's a lot of information. It makes me think that the most salient impact of roleplaying for me would be a constant pounding sensation between my ears. Excellent work on the tabard.

This is just too awesome. Yeah, I don't know that I would actually WEAR it, but to have it in a nice shadowbox frame on my wall would be...well...no...it would have to be my OWN tabard, but STILL!
Great job!
Ideale Feb 26th 2009 1:16AM
Stuff like this is why I am always rambling about how awesome VeCo is. Incredible work, Jellis!
Jellis Feb 26th 2009 1:50AM
Thanks everyone! This came about because of my guild talking about going to BlizzCon, and me thinking it would be cool for all of us to have a tabard to wear for one of the days!
Aurhia Feb 26th 2009 1:52AM
We love our Jellis. :)
And thanks to all of you who've given us compliments or saluted us in the comments.
For those of you wondering when you'd ever wear a tabard irl:
1) Ren Faires
2) Conventions
Personally, I plan to do both.
You're awesome Jellis, and you very much deserve this fifteen minutes of fame.

Danath will return someday, Stromgarge will be saved, and those dedicated keepers will finally rest. Best of luck to you guys, /Salute
P.S. Dear Blizzard, how 'bout adding another PVP flagged npc in there; that world defense is easy to miss somtimes.
