One of the more mysterious bugs currently on the PTR is the fact that Human Females (maybe others, but none I've noticed) transferred over to the PTR are having their faces swapped around. In the picture above, you can see that my
Paladin has two different faces. The one on the left is from Live servers, the one on the Right is from the patch 3.1 test realm. It isn't happening to all characters, oddly. Just some of them. My
Priest, who is also a Human Female, transferred just fine and has the same face she always does. Which happens to be the face my Paladin has on the PTR now.
Funky.
It's a known
issue, and I'm sure it'll go away long before this patch ever hits live realms, but it's a very curious bug. It was likely caused by something quite mundane, but it makes me wonder if they were working on something that caused faces to shift out of the numerical order they had before. Adding new skins, perhaps? Updating old ones? Maybe, maybe not.

New one looks better, imo.
Mingzifer Feb 25th 2009 5:33PM
All you humans look the same to me. /shrug
Todd Feb 25th 2009 5:34PM
Yeah, I like the one on the right. Maybe the Devs think so too, and this is actually an intended change.
Dookieshed Feb 25th 2009 5:36PM
All human females look like ditzed out soccer moms or sorority girls anyway, so I'm really not seeing a problem here.

Because as stereotypes dictate, these types of faces will probably attract more of the male kind. I doubt that's why Blizzard made them look like that, but if it is, then I find that incredibly sexist.
Doesn't matter to me. Never made a female character...
Lorsty Feb 25th 2009 5:38PM
Funny, the face on the right is the same my Holy Paladin has. @.@
I wonder why is it always female humans? If it's not the casting animation, it's the muscular body or a problem with their arms. ;_;

Must be a slow news day ehh?
Wulfhere Feb 25th 2009 5:49PM
Wow, you're the first person to say that about a post you didn't find interesting. You're so original.

The headline created expectations upon which the article did not deliver. I was hoping to read about female humans being able to use the faces of slain enemies as a currency.
In regards to the actual content of the article, during the PTR proceeding wrath, my Gnome's face appeared to be a cross between a rosy cheeked member of Santa's elves and a lawn Gnome.

Like the one on the right more, the other one just looks...weird. Then again, I've never had a freak out over how my character looks beyond getting a kick out of the bling I tossed onto my Tauren's horns.
KiwiRed Feb 25th 2009 5:53PM
It could be worse. It scalped my dwarf priest.
jfofla Feb 25th 2009 5:55PM
You are obviously over 12 years old, and yet you play Alliance.
How interesting.
epsilon343 Feb 25th 2009 5:58PM
Pretty sure each side can say that about the other...
AutumnBringer Feb 25th 2009 6:29PM
You obviously play Horde yet are obviously not mentally mature enough to understand that kids and adults alike play both factions. More sad than interesting.
Geres Feb 25th 2009 6:17PM
I hope they fix this soon so they can get back to work on fixing those clams!

Sorry, let me rephrase that so it's not in the least bit misunderstandable: How is this noteworthy in any way?
Don't get me wrong, I'll happily auto-refresh WI or MMO-Champion in search of fresh scraps of PTR information as much as the next guy, it's just that I don't understand WI's logic in posting this. It's the most unimportant, insignificant change imaginable. And I fail to see why anyone would be interested in reading about it.
In b4 "don't read it then" or whatever. 99% of posts here are informative and relevant, but the other 1% consist of useful filler like this.
Oh, and while I'm ranting: please, please, please hire a copy editor. You are approaching Kotaku-like typo levels.
