Argent Tournament rewards found
MMO Champion has posted some of what are believed to be rewards from the Argent Dawn Tournament coming to the servers, and they are pretty awesome. All of the rewards will apparently be purchased with a new currency called Champion's Seals, and those will be earned from doing dailies, some instanced activity (likely a type of mounted combat -- think PvP-esque, but against mobs), and all of the other various tasks the Argent Dawn is lining up for us. The Tournament itself will appear in 3.1 (and Alex has already posted a great gallery of what it looks like on the PTR), but other activities won't appear until a later content patch. There are epic weapons for everyone (right now priced at 25 seals, though that may change -- the weapons seem to be a little higher 5-man Heroic level), as well as blue boots, belts, gloves, and neckpieces for most classes and specs (all just 10 seals -- about equivalent to the Revered options the endgame reputations). Additionally, you can get tabards for each faction city (at 50 seals, that seems expensive, but they could have a special proc or ability granted with them), you can buy specially colored faction mounts for 100 seals, and at the top of the heap is an Argent Hippogryph for a whopping 250 seals. Seals, it seems, will also be able to be exchanged for reputation commendations, so if you just want to rep up with a certain old faction rep, you can do that, too.
Pretty enticing. We have yet to see how exactly seals will be earned or how easy they'll be to come by, but it seems like Blizzard is planning to make this a catch-all option for endgame in terms of picking up rep, mounts, or gear. Just like the champion tabards let us choose just how we could earn rep for the endgame factions, the Argent Tournament appears to be a chance for folks at level 80 to pick up whatever rep or options they like by doing whatever the Tourney offers.

Will people with the Ambassodor title have an advantage when this Tournament hits the live realm?
Seems a bit unfair to give everyone an easy way to get this title and people who did it via quests and Runecloth find there efforts wasted.

"Will people with the Ambassodor title have an advantage when this Tournament hits the live realm?"
There are separate achievements for becoming a champion of a faction, and being a champion of a faction while being Exalted with that faction (the latter giving a title like "XXX of Ironforge"). Ambassadors will get both at once.
Also, you won't have to burn seals for rep commendations, meaning you get your other shinies faster.
But really? Getting Ambassador isn't hard past a certain level. I was Exalted with Ironforge in my 40s as a Gnome, and I finished off Darnassus, Exodar, and Stormwind rep in a single day by grinding the starting zones; it's really easy once you get to the point where past quest rep rewards have you being Revered with each of them.
The worst for me, ironcially, was Gnomeregan Exiles -- after a point I stopped looking for quests and just ground Runecloth stacks to finish them off.

Of course not.
Will it be unfair in two more expansions when people go back and kill Illidan for the fun of it? No...it's expected that certain achievements will just become easier over time. Are you saying, maybe, that you'd like the title to be removed from it?

Also there's the fact that after Wrath came out and the realms were flooded with DKs, the price of runecloth dropped to ridiculous amounts. I spent 15-20g per stack to get my last bit of rep I needed; in the first weeks of Wrath, I routinely saw stacks going for 1g or less. Anyone who doesn't have their Ambassador title either doesn't care or wants everything spoon-fed to them.

Blizzard never does anything that makes it easy for people. Trust me on that, they'll make sure people will have to work for their title, etc. (I just hope they don't reset rep or that would suck for people who earned their rep.)
But yeah, nice attitude there. It's NOT like people didn't EARN their first title and rep... not like they don't deserve some more for putting time into a game and then having that rep NOT count for anything later eh.

@ xenothaulus
Holy crap, Runecloth is/was that cheap on your server? ...I need to get off my ass and get ambassador with my Blood Knight. ...and get exalted with Silvermoon and Sen'gin on my troll.

Yay! I will finally be able to get a white hippogryph. My only suggestion in the beta was heard ;_;
I'm so happy.
Debesun Feb 26th 2009 3:29PM
But what i'm wondering by looking at the picture is whether my poor cenarion hippogryph will be able to rest his poor wings and finally be able to use his feet.
Poor thing :
Aubrecia Feb 26th 2009 9:16PM
I agree with this! Every time I fly through HF and see the white hippogryffs flying around, I would inwardly cry that I couldn't have a nice white gryff, just the black one. I love the black one, but I really, really wanted a white one! And now I can get it if I'm just very patient.
Celton Feb 26th 2009 3:13PM
Unfortunately, there's no new weapons for a Holy Paladin. =-(
vanye111 Feb 26th 2009 3:29PM
The caster sword is on par with the Grieving Spellblade from Grand Widow Faerlina, with the same spellpower, and similar crit.
Eversor Feb 26th 2009 3:13PM
I am so grinding for that hippogriph!
TJ Feb 26th 2009 3:15PM
Something tells me I'm gonna see a lot of Horde running around in the orgimmar Tabard.
Balius Feb 26th 2009 3:26PM
That's actually the one I want least, since it's so similar to the two existing PVP tabards.
Kendras Feb 26th 2009 4:52PM
I'm probably going for the Blood Elves or Forsaken tbh
Alliance-wise, who wouldn't want the Stormwind tabard :)
MechChef Feb 26th 2009 3:23PM
Yeah, commendations are coming back! After all this time since the AQ war wrapped up, the commendation officers will finally have something to do again.
