Breakfast Topic: Pride in your Achievements
The current Achievement system is extensive, and growing. While many seem to exist just to give you a small pat on the back, others push you into new content, silly stunts, and wacky doings. Which achievement gives you the most pride? There's a lively discussion on the forums about the matter, and we'd like to continue it here.
It seems like a simple question, but when I began pondering my answer, I wasn't sure what to choose. I'm proud that I have completed every meta achievement leading up to What a Long Strange Trip it's Been, so far this year. I'm not sure if that should count yet, considering there are still plenty of chances to fumble the whole thing.
I believe that I will settle on Twilight Assist. Sarth with a drake or more up is definitely the hardest content currently in the game. Although we haven't managed two or three, I belong to a small, tight-knit raiding guild that started from the ground up. None of our players are recruited from elite guilds, and we don't have 25-man gear. Getting this achievement was an awesome feeling.
So I ask again, of which achievement are you most proud, and why is that the case? Was it the most fun or challenging? Was it because of a reward or title?

Well my realm first chef means a lot to me. Sure it's not anything to scream about, but *I* put the effort in, so it makes *me* feel happy. Sure it's a bit silly compared to other realm firsts, but it's mine!
As for normal achievements, I guess the huge number of Exalted factions I have.

I'm proud of getting the Chef title as well.
I don't know if I got realm first but I was the first in my guild to get it by at least a week. I had all of the materials in my inventory to make the final recipes, more than enough Dalaran Cooking Awards to buy the Worg Tartare and Fish Feast recipes, and I logged in as soon as I was able to on patch day. And I'm always the one dropping the Fish Feasts in instances and raids, so I need a chef hat to go with it...
I love my Kirin Tor Familiar, I love my Albino Drake and I love my Stinker (with improved Pepe Le Pew action!)

I'm most proud of my realm-first Lil' Game Hunter, the 75 non-combat pet achievement.
I had 78 when the patch went live, and logged in as soon as servers came up :)

Im proud of my Mechanohog, Albino drake and Kirin Tor Familiar and Ambassador of the Horde achievements. I had to go out of my way for them and the journey was fun.

Realm firsts are nice, other then that it's "Hey guys check out my gamerscore."

Does it tell you if you get a realm first when you get the achievement, or is that something you just have to sort of figure out yourself?
Just curious.
Azhariel Feb 26th 2009 10:20AM
Yeah, you get an especific achievement "Realm First! Level 80 -race" and "Realm First! Level 80 -class-".

When you get a server 1st feat of strength achievement, it also spams the entire server (instead of just your party & guild). Neat idea for progression, so you can be staring down a boss and have [Some Other Person] in [Some Other Guild] Killed This Boss First! pop up 25x in your chatbox. It also allows dozens of people to spam you with tells of 'omg you're such a loser' immediately after you hit lvl80.

Best achievement I have is perfecting the Eye of the storm, and that wasn't really me that did it, I just joined the BG for the heck of it, (I don't pvp much) and it ended, and got the achievement just like that... lucky me

I don't have a ton of achievements, and none that I am especially proud of, but I still love seeing them pop up. IMHO, blizz did a much better job with wow's achievement system than M$ did with xbox. The presentation, sound and feel are all much better than on xbox (xbox fanboy here btw). So yeah, just chiming in to say that even though I don't really take pride in achievements, I love what blizz did with them.

The one I'm the most proud of must be the "[url=http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=2136]Glory of the Hero[/url]" achievement.
It took quite some time to get, and it was some funny ways to do the heroics, and when you have completed an achievment, which had been difficult, you would get this feeling of satisfaction inside yourselv.
We were 3 guys getting this at the same time, and eventhough I'm a druid with Swift Flight form, I use the Red Proto-Drake when I'm going for a long trip.
Reinhold Feb 26th 2009 8:15AM

Leading the Cavalry, of course! I'm a mount fiend, and as soon as it becomes possible, I'm going to get me a Blue Dragonhawk. Sure, it looks stupid with my obese draenei man, but it's a mount. Only 30 more to go!

Mine would have to be getting my 'The Explorer" title. I love overland travel in general, and being able to say 'I've been there' about every place in Azeroth/Outland/Northrend just has a warm fuzzy feeling associated with it.
That and I really had to bust my butt to get all of EK and Kalimdor, after getting used to epic flying speed...
Khanmora Feb 26th 2009 8:26AM
The most fun for me was learning all my pets and mounts right after the patch and having my guildies all ask, "you have how many of what?!" :) That was a great feeling.
Riz Feb 26th 2009 8:32AM
My best achievement - Not Being an Achievement Whore
Raaj Feb 26th 2009 9:46AM
Riz has earned the achievement [Article First - Asshole]!
