IMO leave the achievements alone, it's all about the date on said achievements.
People are still getting the Warglaives feat of strength... but seeing 10-21-08 on it is much more impressive than seeing 02-26-09.

3.1 is introducing at least 6 new mounts just through the Argent Tournament -- five new racial mounts for each faction and the Argent Crusade hippogryph. Those will most likely be easier to get than the Naxxramas raid protodrakes.
And no, achievements are not just made for casual players. Do you really believe that Joe Weekend Player should get to sport the Arena Master title? Some achievements are trivial to get. Some achievements require little more than time and effort. And some will require dedication, creativity, or skill to accomplish.
