I think the Spirit of Competition will return in 2010 for the winter olympic games. Not of much help now, but will be nice for completionists like myself. Got it on an alt before achievements and the pet stabling system were added so didnt bother on my main.
Emerald whelp is easily the worst of the 4 to grind, watch the AH for a decently priced one.

And Breannis site is excellent for tracking your progress.
