The Queue: Missing out

Before we get started today, I just wanted to take a moment and mention that I'm working on a Special Edition (super special!) of The Queue focusing on Dual Specs. It won't interrupt our regular daily doses of The Queue, it'll come seperately. It might take me awhile to piece it together because people have asked a lot of Dual Spec questions, but it's coming! Slowly but surely.

What happened to the new instance that was supposed to be in Un'Goro crater, accessible only by through the Waygate in Sholazar Basin?
I've never heard of this instance that was supposed to be in Un'goro, so I'm going to guess that what happened to it is that it never, ever existed. If this was something you heard during the Wrath alpha or beta, it was probably just speculation based on the fact that some of the terrain in Un'goro had changed dramatically but nobody could get there yet to see what was going on.
At the time, guessing that an instance would be there was probably a pretty safe guess. Who would've thought that Blizzard would carve out a chunk of Un'goro and put a giant teleporter in to take you there just for one single quest? Seems like a lot of work for not a lot of payoff, doesn't it?

I logged in last night, and I had more FP's than I did before. The toon was leveled with RaF, to catch up with some RL friends on a new server so I missed a few zones and FP's. The toon is 65 and have the Shattered Sun Staging Area FP and I know I haven't been there yet on this server at all on any toon. Odd huh?
When you're a high enough level to go to the Isle of Quel'Danas, you get the flightpath automatically. You can't swim there, and before the event had been completed on servers, there was no portal, either. It would've been a bit hard to get there, don't you think? That flight path is completely automatic, so it's not odd at all!

Think they'll ever make slow mounts useful again by having them scale to riding skill, possibly with an optional fee?
Unlikely.
Rowan asked...
Will there be any limited time achievements, pets, mounts, quests, etc. once 3.1 hits? Like things that are only attainable/doable within X amount of weeks of 3.1's release. I ask because I won't be playing WoW again until May and as such, I don't want to miss out. Thanks.
I somehow doubt that we'll see patch 3.1 before May. Whether we do or not, in April we have a holiday, Noblegarden. None of that stuff is require for What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been though, so you may not care about it at all. If we don't see patch 3.1 before May, the only fun Noblegarden stuff won't be seen at all until 2010.
If you're back by May 1st, you'll be around for the Children's Week stuff, so you don't need to worry about that, either. The Argent Tournament is going to be a permanent fixture, it's not a seasonal thing or a one-time-only thing. It'll be here to stay.
As far as I can tell, you only need to worry about Ulduar server firsts if patch 3.1 hits early, and I suspect you really don't care about those at all.

Slow mounts ARE useful again! Now that they don't take up any bag space, you can keep them handy for whenever you're helping out a lowbie friend. Ever tried to ride somewhere together when one person has a 100% mount and the other a 60%? Kinda annoying.
Okay, it's not a huge buff, but it's something.

Why is it that when I click on "Next 20 Comments", it jumps to the "Add your comments" section of the next page? It's kinda annoying that I have to scroll all the way up again for the next comments.

They're talking about how the Argent Tournament won't be in for patch 3.1, but they're going to be testing it soon. This leads me to believe that they can test Noblegarden and patch its changes, independently of Class changes, Ulduar and dualspecs, etc.
A patch has to come before Noblegarden, not THE patch.

Whatever happened to the new /dances the original WotLK trailer promised?

Dear "The Queue" guys,
With the new equipment manager available on the PTR, will we have to carry all that extra gear in our bags, or will the equipment manager "hold" it?
Thanks,
J-Frog

It's just a built-in version of mods like Outfitter. Your gear is still in your bags.
Andae Mar 3rd 2009 1:20AM
Thanks for the info! Dang though. A full seperate set sure does take up space! It'll be a pain during dungeons and raids when you wanna grab all the stuff you can for the AH or vendors. Still, guess I can't complain about not getting something that was never offered.

hey where do you download the PTR file to and once there, how do you log onto the PTR realm and not the live realms? Pls?

I was wondering if there are any items for Death Knights that I could get that would be similar to some of the cool starting items we got in Acherus. Especially the hood every Death Knight receives when they first create their character.
Shalex Feb 26th 2009 9:56PM
Hey I am a 72 1/2 deathknight leveling in Howling Fjord after cleaning out the Borean Tundra, I heard this gives you more money when you do the other quests later doing the lowest level zones first as opposed to jumping into Sholazar Basin, Icecrown, and Stormpeaks as opposed to going to the highest zone. Is this actually going to benefit me or am I better off doing something else? Also if there is anything you could suggest to help me be able to buy the riding skill when I hit 80 I would appreciate it.
Rowan Feb 26th 2009 10:54PM
I much appreciate your reply to my question, Alex. Thanks. Also, ZOMG - my question referenced in title...I think. (>^_^)>
Rowan Feb 26th 2009 11:02PM
So...new question:
Is the Argent Tournament racial mounts replacing the old racial mounts - or will there be racial (exalted rep) mounts and racial (Argent Tournament) mounts?

As an engineer, there are a few fun gadgets and toys I can craft that people like to buy, and there are of course other money-makers (the motorcycle, mote extractor, etc.). But not nearly as many as for the other crafting professions.
My suggestion is to add new Engineering-made trinkets (BOE) that transform the user into various other creatures on a cooldown, much like the Orb of Deception, the Furlbog rod, Murloc suit, etc. These could be a huge thing that people would really want to buy, so would make Engineering more economically viable as a profession, and of course, people love transforming their characters into new forms. It also makes sense from a lore point of view for an engineer to be able to make a "holographic projector" or some such to disguise the user. I really encourage more discussion on this topic.

I keep finding myself asking why seemingly good talents are passed over in specs only to be told that "they're bugged, don't take it!" Is there a website somewhere that has a list of bugged talents or abilities? Something at least that's easier to navigate than the official forums.

I was Reading on one of your fine posts that in the data files there were new mounts. For example an aqua mount but there was also super mounts for all the major city factions. Is there any indication or speculation that where getting faster ground mounts? And if not what is the purpose or what is special about the new mounts?
Jessica Feb 27th 2009 2:31PM
Vanity. Prettier skins for ocd mount collectors. :)
I don't anything about speed increase thought. Sorries. :(

I have a question. Enchanting seems an obvious profession for a banking/auctioning alt, what's a good second profession?
Carrie Feb 28th 2009 6:33AM
Jewelcrafting or Tailoring.
With either one, you can buy the raw mats right off of the AH, stand there and make items that you can see no one else has up for sale, and post them. You can also DE the items that you make as you're skilling the 2nd prof up.
No traveling to a forge, etc required.
I'd really recommend JCing, with a Draenei bank toon (+5 to JC); as tailoring is pretty fail in Wrath.

Is there a way to tell if you have already done a quest? There was an add-on called QuestHistory that saved a list as you accepted them and maked them completed as you finished and turned them in. But it has not been kept up with the patches.

Can you please do a series of 'Gearing for Naxx' guides like you did with Kara back in the day? I've been reading EJ for my Shaman and am a little overwhelmed as to hit-caps, expertise-caps, which which numbers I need/want to hit. I feel like there's a substantial gap between regular instance and Heroic drops, making it difficult to successfully make the jump. Oh, and Shaman should be the first guide :)
~Thanks!
