25-man Vault of Archavon pickup group. The raid leader and his assistants were grabbing people to fill spots, and wanted to make sure that no one was saved to the instance to avoid complications. There were constant raid warnings and ready checks ("PRESS YES ONCE YOU HAVE CHECKED YOUR LOCKOUT STATUS", etc.) and we went in.This group ripped through the Archavon Warders like they were wet tissue paper; we downed the last one and then realized there was no Archavon the Stone Watcher. There was an insane chorus of WTF in the raid channel -- people angrily demanding who had screwed the group -- when someone spoke up. Yes, everyone had checked their ready status EXCEPT THE RAID LEADER. I _wish_ I was making this up.

For future reference, have one unsaved person zone in (someone who doesn't necessarily care about the instance - I only PuG 10 man as we do 25 in guild, but seeing as in 10 man all I want are the badges and Grand Black War Mammoth that person is usually me), and after they zone in they check their raid status. If they're not saved, they give the all clear. If they get saved, they quickly tell the rest of the group that someone in the raid group is 'tainted'.
