Friday night authentication server trouble [UPDATED x2]

The login server has announced that Blizzard is aware of some authentication server problems going around tonight. It didn't seem very widespread when the notice first went up, but we've been gradually getting more reports of it as the night has gone on.Oddly, I was able to log into WoW when the notice was first posted, but I can't anymore. I wasn't doing anything important, so I decided to check it out and sure thing, it was time for a ride on the failboat. I'm also stuck on a loading screen while trying to test out the Iron Council on the PTR, so I'm currently riding on a Cruise Failboat. How decadent!
If we get any other updates before the authentication server starts working again, we'll be sure to keep you all posted.
Edit: Welp, it (mostly) works again. Go forth and play (some of you)!

I made the mistake of exiting to disable an addon after logging in. Now it's been 15 minutes worth of failed efforts.

After hammering the login server for 15 minutes (which I'm sure is helping the problem...), I was finally able to log in successfully, even using the authenticator.

I'm not even getting to Authentication now. Just right to Unable to Connect. blah blah blah...
My guess is they are restarting the authentication server with a fix right now.

ok i just tried, it failed to connect to login server, i tried again.. it worked!
they reset the server all should be well now

It's gone from timing out to just not being able to connect, like as failed internet connection.

I got a timed-out logon and now it says I can't even connect to try and authenticate my login. /sigh

I have been trying and have been getting to "Authenticating" but now hitting the connecting then auto failing...

I made the same mistake, logged out quick to install some addons, tried to relog but coudln't.

Ah no, in still doesn't work. And, my subscription ran out today, and the Account Management page is still down on the main WoW site, so I can't add any time. :-(
