Ulduar raid boss Freya encounter livestreaming now

Raiders are preparing this very moment to get the very first crack at Ulduar raid boss Freya on the PTR. Click on the Ustream video above to watch it in action if you are reading this right now (early Saturday afternoon.) The raid is being tested on the European PTR this afternoon and this stream is coming from one of the top EU raid guilds, Numen. You can head directly to the Ustream page if you want to jump into the group chat of those watching.

As of yet the Ustream is a wonderful chance to see raiders flying around in circles waiting for Blizzard to handle the huge spike in traffic on an already overstressed PTR server.

Actually the EU PTR is locked. You cannot log on unless you are a member of that guild

I really really REALLY hate blizzard for doing this. Why the favoratism?? I mean, the guild is good, but why not let other people test it???

Because it's important to get people who will actually analyze the fight to test it.

It doesn't do any good to put the average person in, who when they wipe, says... "Why did we wipe?" "lol I dunno!" and then they make zero attempt to actually figure out why.

Basically these guys are the best of the best and Blizzard wants to see how the fight turns out. At this point in time they want hard numbers that they can use to look at the difficulty of a fight.

If you have average Joe Schmo in a PuG that's wiping 20 times when it switches to Phase 2 or whatever, Blizzard isn't learning anything.

They aren't kidding when they say PTR attracts the best of the best. I can see a rainbow of protodrakes, all different colors of regular drakes, the actual streamer has a phoenix (and I think I saw at least one more). Pretty awesome. Too bad that's ALL you can see >.>

There is no raiding there - the livestream person has been looking at "Connecting..." and "Authenticating..." messages for the last hour.

Earlier on the server was up and they were waiting to go in but it was shut down and it seems like Blizzard was only letting a select few in for testing.

Oh so this is a private PTR thing... I was like WTF how come a singe sole in my guild didn't mention this in todays ALT run.

About Blizz playing favorites. It annoys me, because I am in an excellent guild (top 100 world wide) but we don't get any treatment. I can live with it though, since I don't really give a rats ass about the PTR. We read the boss mechanics and we have the same advantage as other guilds that tested away when it hits live. I wish we could try one boss though xD

How can you effectively test a boss fight when the same ppl u had test Illidan took like 10 healers 2 tanks and the rest dps? How can you NOT win? That's not testing that's using an AK-47 in fight that uses only water guns. Does Blizzard assume that every guild is going to fight the boss's all the same way? My point is, why not get some "actual testing" done. If your only going to really let 2-3 guilds do the raids why open the PTR to everyone...it makes no cents:) Flame all you want, but the majority of WoW players that pay-to-play arn't sponsored. That's my opinion.
