I've got to say, though it's not really mentioned, that tailoring works very well just as a simple extension of your character's class and their own search for power. A warlock devoting their time to craft their own set of armor, sewn from felcloth or imbued with shadow, makes just as much the same way that one might craft their own powerful magic artifacts or forge their own weaponry. Not really a huge need to go deeper than that unless you want to.That said, really wish they'd make crafting armor sets worthwhile at endgame, makes tailoring feel so useless when you never wear the stuff you craft.
