Introducing WoW Insider's Guild of the Month contest
Think your guild is one of the best in all of the World of Warcraft? Have you dominated your server since vanilla WoW, or run a packed RP event every week for years? Are you leading one of the biggest guilds in the game, running group after group through Naxx without any drama or wipes? Think your guild is awesome? Prove it!WoW Insider is proud to present our brand new Guild of the Month contest. Each month, we'll be choosing a guild from the game who impresses us through performance in raiding, originality in what they do as a group, or just plain old community (because casual guilds need love, too). And the winner will not only get profiled here on the site as our Guild of the Month, but they'll also get a $100 gift certificate to Warcraft.Swagdog.com, where they'll be able to pick up custom-made guild shirts for the top members of the guild.
To nominate your guild, just send a short message (no longer than 200 words, please) to guildofthemonth@gmail.com stating why your guild should be chosen as a winner. Make sure to tell us why your guild stands out from the rest -- you don't have to have conquered all of the raid content, but you do have to be doing something extraordinary and special with your little ingame community. Every month, we'll choose a winner from those entries, and profile them here on the site (so don't enter if you don't want to get profiled), as well as award them the gift certificate from the kind folks at Swagdog. More rules after the break:
Please note: You must be 18+ to win, and while the contest is open to both US and non-Quebecois Canadian readers (sorry Quebec and EU -- our legal department won't let us run this one in your area). Please use a real email to send your entry in, so we can contact you later if we need to, and please send your entry in before the end of the month -- so by midnight on the 31st of March. Full official rules can be found right here.
Good luck to everyone who enters -- we can't wait to find some of the best guilds in the game.

Haha, $10 says the guild leader of the winning guild just ends up buying stuff for himself, seeing as how a lot of them are total gear whores in the game.
TheKarmaPolice Mar 3rd 2009 9:29AM
If that's the case, I doubt they'd win at all
A top guild with gear whores and drama is hardly the best guild

That $100 dollar gift card is REALLY gonna beef up the drama in Guildwatch. I can't wait to see how it goes when a guild with like 100 people all want a shirt but the GM just gets them for his/herself and their friends.

See??

My guild deserves this award for unconventional approaches to every obstacle, in this case applying via comment instead of email.

My guild is the best on my server, if not in the entire game! We help each other out all of the time, we always do any instance together, we always buy stuff for each other, we send gold to one another's alts if they need it, there's zero drama and we always help in any quest that anyone in the guild is doing...
...but then again, I'm the only one IN my guild, so...

Ha! Beautiful

Gutted that EU entries (and Quebec - I feel your pain my kinda-Frenchy brothers!) can't be accepted. Ofc the swag would be nice, but would even love the chance to get featured on the website - would really help with guild recruitment :p
Any chance of doing a seperate EU version, for recognition purposes only?
SarahTheGnome Mar 3rd 2009 5:38PM
Yeah, we don't need prizes! Just the acknowledgement would be nice!

Yes, It does suck that I can't apply my guild (Twilight knights EU-Aggramar) to this contest.
And, it's not because of the prize, it's really about being proud of what we achieved.
At the moment we write this, we're only missing malygos 25 to clear. It may not seem like such impressive but, our guild started on January 1st and it's been an home for late night raiders who wouldn't be able to raid otherwise.
Yes, our raids do get interrupted by "brb, baby's crying", yes, we do hear on TS people answering calls when they're on standby and, in a game where so many are students, simply being able to stand amoung them with nothing to be ashamed in terms of raid progression is something worth notice by itself.
Well, perhaps if Wowinsider's team ever decides to do something like that for the other people (even without any prize), we may get an honorable mention :)
PS. Good luck to all the contestants, gratz to the winners

The guild I'm in is the best in WoW by far! I can't wait to enter this contest cause there's no other guild in WoW like the Church of the Dark Mind on Sentinels server! Everybody's helpful to lowbies and end gamers alike and the rp is awesome if you're into that kind of thing. There's no push to level you can just kind of do your thing and people are there for you if you need them!

I'd like to put up a guild that is not mine
Order of the Raven on Aggramar-US
they ran a lottery where anyone could join and they would run them through Sarth 3D, down the boss and give the drake to the winner.
And yes, entry is free... They enjoyed the experience and from what I understood they plan on doing this every month?
The winner would be picked by a /roll 1-(number of contestants)
every contestant got a number by order of sign up. Winner gets to go with them, earn drake and title (if he/she doesn't have it)
They are the #1 guild of our server.

I vote The Deepwater Pirates on Shadow Council.

When are the winners picked for this?
