"Most experienced players use Questhelper..."Wrong. Just wrong. Though many do use it, often players purposefully opt out of things like Questhelper because they feel it plays the game for them. I personally don't use Questhelper because it really isn't hard to figure out what a quests wants and having all the quests marked on you map really ruins it for me.I use addons that give me data streams I can't otherwise get, like Recount. However, I draw the line at things that tell me what I should be doing. That's why I don't use Auctioneer or Questhelper. In my opinion, taking 5 extra minutes to do a round of quests is worth it because it makes the quests feel less of an efficiency grind.

"Wrong. Just wrong."Your assertion is as fact-free as theirs. How do you know that most don't use quest helper? Some of us don't care about the single player aspect of this game, and try to get it over with as quickly as possible. I don't think there is any real idea of which school of thought has more adherents.

I agree for the most part, but Auctioneer can help track trends in the overall game economy, and help you to spot outliers in pricing amongst thousands of auctionable items, and help you make the most from auctions.I'd place that complex information into a "data stream I can't otherwise get". Well...I could...but it would involve writing lots of stuff down. I'd rather have a computer track the data and I can make those fuzzier (and more interesting) What/When/How Many decisions on the AH rather than focusing on the How Much.

"Your assertion is as fact-free as theirs. How do you know that most don't use quest helper?"I never said most people don't use Questhelper. What I was protesting was their assumption that Questhelper is one of the indicators of an advanced player, which they were making."I agree for the most part, but Auctioneer can help track trends in the overall game economy... I'd place that complex information into a 'data stream I can't otherwise get'."Tracking item prices and trends isn't too hard. While I agree that without Aucioneer I won't always be getting the exact best deal, I can live with getting 8g for an item instead of 8g, 51s, 32c. I enjoy playing the Auction House on my own, and I feel that if I can't monitor the trends and put items for good prices I don't deserve that 51s 32c.

I agree - I hate addons, and hope this add-on-like feature can be disabled. I read my quest text, and I like figuring out what I need to do based on the information in the quest text.I think quest helper, or anything like it is pretty much cheating the game. But if it works for others, great, I just don't like it for myself.Alternatives like wowhead are strictly last-resort and I only justify them by the fact that it's not possible to ask NPCs questions that would be reasonable, such as "Where is so-and-so's house".

Quest helper just lets the retards with zero reading comprehension skills get to max level. I hate it.
