The Daily Quest: Of Healing UIs, BlizzCon galleries and Glory of the Raider The Movie
- Heroic: Glory of the Raider is one of the more difficult achievements to attain. Bloodarrow's blog found a Tankspot video of of every Wrath boss downed necessary for it. So if you never get that achievement yourself, you can at least enjoy all the kill shots now.
- Blizzard has posted new galleries of last October's BlizzCon:
- World of Matticus posts 33 Raid Healing UIs

You may have found the video on Bloodarrow's blog. But nevertheless you should might mention the makers of this video and there big commitment into the whole project. Which is called project : Marmot. Can be found on this link - http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f206/
Its a Tankspot.com, ciderhelm and his guild Even tide's project, and the video is made by one of the prime motors behind it all, Ciderhelm.
But yes and incredible hard achivement, and a great video indeed.

Along the same lines as this comment, Tankspot and Ciderhelm deserve a lot of respect for all of the Project Marmot work they did. This video was not just a bunch of kill shots as it was so "delicately" (or insultingly) put in the article, but it is a great cinematic video that sums up all of the work of one guild on the achievement as well as one person on what is arguably the best and most comprehensive collection of how-to videos.
Not to mention the fact that the non kill-shot parts of the video are extremely well done.

Also.. Forgot to add this.. that this video should have gone up a long time ago. I even emailed off to have it put up in WoW Moviewatch so that it wouldn't be featured this way.. waste of time I suppose.
Morwen Mar 4th 2009 9:14AM
You guys should've highlighted this on WoW Moviewatch long ago, and now that you posted it here, at least give credit to Ciderhelm and his guild then. :)
Balloon Mar 4th 2009 9:15AM
Couldn't agree more with the need to give credit for the video. That kind of machinima is no joke to put together and it is a remarkable specimen of a job well done. Amazing, in fact. The best raid video I have ever seen. Watch it in HD!
marcus Mar 4th 2009 9:23AM
The folks at http://www.tankspot.com/ and the guild Eventide put a lot of time and effort into their Project Marmot; the least they deserve from you is a link in the damn post.
Seriously lame.
Mythicgriffon Mar 4th 2009 9:36AM
Agreed, Ciderhelm is a great movie maker and him and his guild evantide should get the credit for this fine film.
To Achieve something this high up on the achievement food chain is truly Epic.

I lol, once again, at WowInsider's inept attempt at "journalism." You don't just tank someone's highly polished piece of editing, that includes rare pieces of epic video footage and say someone "found this" like it was a piece of discarded rubbish. That is insane.
You all better get your act together before the rest of the world sees how vapid and cheap the product is that you produce. For the love of all that is good, give credit where credit is due, please!
Vegard Mar 4th 2009 10:06AM
The fact that it says "Eventide guild in association with Tankspot" in the video makes me wonder if they watched it at all before putting it out as a news item.
And introducing this video as a kill shot video? Seriously?
Dan O'Halloran Mar 4th 2009 10:37AM
I've added reference in the post to the origin of the video.
I sincerely hope that I'm not sending our readers to a place filled with the same insults, derision and elitist attitudes displayed by certain Tankspot commenters here. You'd do well to remember that you represent your site whenever you post about it publicly.

Wow... Makes me want to sit down and raid right now. Thanks to Eventide, Cinderhelm, Tankspot and anyone else involved for a seriously gorgeous video.
Vegard Mar 4th 2009 10:55AM
Instead of apologizing because you messed up, you go on attacking readers of tankspot who want credit where credit is due?
Stoico Mar 4th 2009 10:57AM
Hey Dan O'Halloran
I do in no way represent tankspot in any way. I just think that with a blog/web page like this , with so many readers. That the post being put up, should have some valid info.
Taking this video, and post it as a kill shot video found on some randon guy's blog. Dosent really take this video and all the hard work behind it any justige. Would be nice to you to actually research a bit on what you write about. Instead of just throwing a blog togheter for the sole purpose of get a new post up.
Lets get some good researched post, instead of just a load of posts.
Dan O'Halloran Mar 4th 2009 11:17AM
You're right in that I should have referenced the original source of the movie, but one of the goals of this regular feature is to draw attention to player blogs around the Internet and this video allowed me to do both. It is clearly evident in the first 30 seconds of the movie who the creators are and the blog I discovered it on made no claims of making it themselves.
Thanks.

Insults, derision and elitist attitudes?
They asked for you to give credit where credit was due and to be fair, you still haven't linked to the original source. I understand that you don't want to be bullied into how to format/run your site, but when this kind of thing isn't uncommon... what do you expect?
People are passionate about a site that's been extremely helpful to them. Frankly, I'm still shocked that you've never even mentioned the massive list of instructional videos at Project: Marmot.
After all, in general, it's surprising how you can feature so many blogs and sites that are relatively new to the overall WoW community, yet this is the most you've ever even mentioned of the most massive tanking forum on the internet.

Well, I have to admit that a quick search makes me eat my own words. You have mentioned Tankspot in the past a few times. I just don't think you guys get sometimes how much you frustrate people with unintentional (and what can sometimes be perceived as intentional) carelessness. Basically, we want this site to be so much more than it is because it has such a large audience and does impact the greater WoW community.
So, you can see it is people insulting you or you can see it as people holding you accountable to your audience.
marcus Mar 4th 2009 12:59PM
Let me preface by saying that I am an avid Tankspot reader and a donor to the site, but I have no additional affiliation with TS. I hadn't even heard of Wowinsider before today.
Dan, I think you would -do well- to realize how you represent your site as well. Do you see how condescension works both ways?
It is unethical of you to post a work such as this uncredited, and even now you have not posted a link to the original source. Instead,
****you are using the work of TS and Eventide to promote a completely unrelated blog.****
This sort of behavior IS acceptable for some random person's personal blog site, but it is NOT acceptable in the context of a stand-alone, ad-supported site of sufficient size to require a "Managing Editor."
If, instead of condescending to Tankspot readers, you had merely apologized and added the credit and the link, you may have gained some readers from this little debacle. Unfortunately, you have not -done well-.
This website seems to have some degree of resources and reputation; it should demonstrate a higher level of accountability. Your work today was "seriously lame." You can take that as an insult if you choose, but I offered it as advice along with a suggestion to rectify the situation (which was ignored). Save your hypocritical condescension, you unethical prick.
Have a nice day,
