Wrath of the Lich King falls off the top sales spot (for now)

We suppose it had to happen at some point -- with PTR interest kicking in this past week, and the game having sold so many copies already, there had to be a point where something else jumped up above Wrath. But don't count the award winning expansion out of the number one spot yet. While Dawn of War II is getting reviewed very favorably, this little bump is likely due to an audience of fans who wanted to get the sequel on day one. Once first-week sales for that game level off, it's entirely likely that we'll see WotLK back up on top. Not that Blizzard needs any more money, of course. But it is good to be the (Lich) King.

Lol, there had to be one, well as a WH40K fan (for 10 years now) this came as quite abit of a surprise. But then again I take no notice of the sales, the important thing that matters is for people to enjoy their respective games.

The Hype for Warhammer was so big. All I heard was how WOW stood for Waiting On Warhammer. It was the messiah, the long awaited WOW Killer!
ROFL...Guess not!

Nothing too surprising, Dawn of War is a fantastic game. Coupled with Lich King being number one for like four months, people are bound to stop buying.

I wonder how Starcraft 2 will shake up the gaming market. If DoW2 topped WoLK "Even though it might seem temporary" but SC2, which is a blizzard game and has been in development for more than 5 years, do u think it might be the new dominator of the PC sales charts?

Dawn of War I is an awesome game. I played that game and was more addicted to that game, than I ever was or will be with WoW - and I'm pretty addicted to WoW. Multiplayer PvP games (2v2, 3v3, 4v4 could range from 20min to six hours (I had quite a number of these) or more. But I had to quit Dawn of War, because it was consuming most of my none sleeping/working/eating time. lol
It's a different game. You can't compare it to WoW. Thanks for the head's up. I need to go out and buy this now.

What most people seem to be missing is - Dawn of War 2 is terrible.
The first game, and it's expansions, were great. Relic went and screwed that up by trying to be all cool with a squad-based singleplayer and mediocre skirmish/multiplayer mode. Had they just made DoW2 the same as DoW1+Exp, with improved graphics, they'd have had a winner. As it is, DoW2 sits around the same level as C&C Renegade. Good idea, bad implementation.
